Stagecoach Salford perform on Children in Need 2021
Twelve students from Stagecoach Salford have been specially selected as BBC Children in Need’s 2021 main choir and performed a unique rendition of Andra Day’s Rise Up for the famous televised fundraising programme on Friday 19th November.  Children In Need 2021 is coming live from Salford after 40 years in London, and Stagecoach students are the first Salford choir to perform in the studio!

After auditioning earlier in the year, the students rehearsed for their début at the famous BBC Media City broadcasting centre. This year's choir was led by Mark De-Lisser, who is a renowned choir director who has worked with the likes of Ariana Grande, Jessie J and Beverley Knight.  For the performance on the night, they were joined by singers from across the country.

Laura Walker, principal at Stagecoach Salford, said “It is an honour to have our students selected by the BBC to take part in this world-famous annual event, and for such an incredible cause. We know how talented our students are, and we are delighted that now, millions of viewers will be able to see it too! We hope that, as well as showcase our students’ singing skills, they will inspire other young, budding performers and support the fundraising."

On the day the students arrived at the BBC studios for rehearsals at around 2pm for their big performance at 8pm that night. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students and they all had an experience that will always be remembered.
