Welcome to stagecoachathome live streaming! Before we give you the instructions on how to join the session, we’d just like to draw your attention to the following important information:

Stagecoach Performing Arts is committed to Child Safeguarding and operates a robust policy both during face to face lessons and online live streaming,  With this in mind we have put together some guidance to help you assist your children to make the most of our online offering whilst maintaining an arena of safety.

In accordance with our Child Safeguarding Policy we would request that you, the parent or carer, are present for the duration of the session. This is different to our normal way of working due to the online nature of the offering and the responsibility for the health and safety of your child being with you in your own home.

We would expect the students to abide by the Stagecoach Code of Conduct which is attached to the email that your Principal will send you to invite you to the online session.  Please remind your child of the Code of Conduct before the session begins.

Please be aware that students must not take photographs or video the live session, otherwise they will not be able to participate in future online classes

The sessions will be recorded for safeguarding and quality assurance purposes.  This footage will not be used externally to Stagecoach without permission being sought individually.

The platform we have chosen is Zoom as it provides us with the necessary facilities to operate effectively and safely.  We are aware of some issues in the media about the security of Zoom but the steps we have taken, in the purchase and set up with this platform means that we have control over who can access each session.  Only Stagecoach parents are invited, this invite cannot be shared as the Principal will be registering and controlling who enters.

The Zoom sessions may last for 3 hours with students moving around rooms for different disciplines with different teachers - much like a normal Stagecoach school.

Your Stagecoach Principal (“the host”) will have already invited you to the live streaming session via an email which contains a Meeting ID and Password.  We would strongly recommend that you access the session via a static device such as a laptop or desktop PC/Mac and the instructions below are for those devices.
Before joining our Zoom class, could we please request that you change the screen name of your Zoom account to reflect the name of your child. This should be done as follows: Stage, First Name, Initial of Surname (E.G. S1 Jim B)

Click on the ‘Join Zoom Meeting’ link in the email.   This will take you to the following screen:

Click on ‘Open Zoom Meetings’ and you will be taken to the screen below:

Enter your Meeting Password from your email invitation.

You may get the following screen (below) whilst the meeting is being prepared

As soon as the Stagecoach Principal (host) starts the meeting you will enter  a ‘waiting room’ where the Stagecoach Principal (host) will wait until all participants have arrived before letting you into the ‘meeting’.

When the Stagecoach Principal lets you into the meeting  you will be asked to use computer audio/video - please click this button.

The Stagecoach Principal will be in control of this session at all times.  This means that all participants will be muted and they will mostly only see either the Stagecoach Principal or the teacher pinned to the large screen with thumbnail images of other participants.  In order to change this view please click on the nine dots in the top right hand corner and choose ‘gallery view’.  This will enable your child to see all other participants on the screen.

Your child will be allocated into a ‘room’ which reflects their age group.  They will remain in this space for the duration of the session with the teachers moving around to deliver different disciplines.

To balance the flow of the lessons, with the engagement of the class collectively, the students will only be able to communicate freely with one another during the session at the times that the teacher or Principal chooses to unmute them.

The Stagecoach teacher(s) will deliver the classes with the Stagecoach Principal acting in a supervisory capacity.

Should a student behave inappropriately during a session, the Principal may remove them into a separate room to discuss their behaviour before allowing them to resume the class.  Please refer to the Student Code of Conduct previously mentioned for appropriate behaviour.

At the end of the classes the Stagecoach Principal will move all students back into the main room to say goodbye.  They will then close the session and you will be locked out of the Zoom meeting.
