Stagecoach Woodbridge

At Stagecoach Performing Arts School Woodbridge, we believe that every child can be a star performer in life! Our weekend theatre arts classes cater for children aged 4-18 in Woodbridge, and the wider Suffolk Coastal area. Open since 2007, we continue to lead our students by example, providing them with innovative and creative tuition in singing, dance, acting and drama, encouraging our students to be imaginative, dynamic, resilient, and ready to face any challenge. Whether your child needs help with confidence or seeks opportunities to perform, we can help!

As well as lessons in drama, dance and singing, our students are offered a variety of performance opportunities, specialist workshops and the option to take performance arts grades, encompassing drama, dance and singing in one exam if they wish. All our performing arts classes are taught by experienced teachers with an excellent track record within the arts. The school is located in central Woodbridge, at Kyson Primary School, and is run by Andy Durham, who has 10 years of experience with Stagecoach.

More than just a class

At Stagecoach, as well as teaching children to act, dance, and sing, we run film projects, organise theatre trips and workshops with theatre and film professionals, and offer external performance opportunities with touring shows. We also give parents a variety of opportunities to see their children perform, and even get involved themselves.

Summer term

Following our High School Musical performance, Summer term is skill term and we are taking some of the most well-loved and well-known shows and films ever as our inspiration. We have also booked a great studio space for a monologue and duologue night in June for our older students.

Looking ahead - 2020

Our first cohort of older students have now completed their Trinity Bronze awards, and we are offering this to all our stage 3 students, as well as the option of LAMDA exams. Spring term 2020 is our big show term, and in the Summer term Drama will take centre stage, with a number of exciting projects in development.

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)
