Stagecoach Wokingham

A warm welcome from Stagecoach Theatre Arts School Wokingham! We offer weekly acting, singing and dance classes for children aged 4-18 yrs. We believe in adaptable teaching to suit your child's needs, whether that be a more focused technique, offering new skills or building social confidence. Our children perform publicly at least twice a year and we also offer accredited examinations and additional LAMDA tuition.

We are now accepting applications for our Autumn Term and Summer Workshops for Wokingham and Reading East.

Brand New School Jan 2019

We are delighted that at Stagecoach Wokingham we will be launching a brand new school in January 2019 (Spring term) to meet the popular demand of students wanting to join our school. The school will run 2-5pm for ages 6-18 and 1:30-3pm for ages 4-6 years at St. Crispin's Secondary School, London Road. Email wokingham@stagecoach.co.uk to join!

Child care vouchers

We are proud that Stagecoach Wokingham is OFSTED accredited and can therefore accept child care vouchers and tax free child care as payment for termly classes and Easter and Summer workshops. To pay using these methods, please contact us for our account details at wokingham@stagecoach.co.uk.

AUTUMN 2018

We are now accepting applications to our Autumn term 2018 beginning in September. This term, main school students will be working towards an end of term show which will be performed at The Whitty Theatre in December, amongst the grounds of Luckley House School. Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

Meet The Team

Principal - Claire Louise Stainer BA Hons Drama & Theatre, MA Musical Theatre

Claire has been running Stagecoach Wokingham for 4 years, and in this time the school has gone from strength to strength. She has bought her experience of 10 years teaching to Berkshire, to ensure they receive the best part-time training in the performing arts.
 
Claire trained at Royal Holloway, University of London and graduated with a degree in Theatre Studies. She then went on to train at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and Moscow Art Theatre to study Musical Theatre and Acting, graduating with an MA. She has worked for the Stagecoach network for over 10 years, watching many children flourish into performers and even adults! She has helped secure many children roles in West End and TV shows. She also understands the use of theatre as a therapeutic tool and has worked alongside many fantastic theatre companies to bring theatre into lots of people's lives.
 
She has coached children into gaining roles for Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Sound Of Music (West End and national tour), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Shrek, Les Miserables, Oliver, Enron, various regional productions, full time vocational drama training and universities.

Claire is also part of the faculty of Performance Preparation Academy in Guildford where she teaches investigative studies to the degree students, ensuring they are academically prepared for their degrees in acting and musical theatre.
