Stagecoach Winchester

Hello and a very  warm welcome to our school.

At Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Winchester we offer singing, dance and drama classes for children ages 4 - 18  years. Alison Rann has been the Principal of Stagecoach Theatre Arts Winchester since April 1997 and we are shortly going to be celebrating our twenty year anniversary. We welcome around 260 pupils through our doors every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at The Westgate School and students will make new friends and build on their skills and talents in drama, singing and dance. Our teaching team is friendly and enthusiastic and the Principal has developed a strong supportive school ethos where children are encouraged to develop their performing arts skills and self-confidence and experience  the freedom to be expressive and creative.

Our students are given lots of opportunity to shine in class, theatre performances, and our annual show. Students from Stagecoach Theatre Arts Winchester have been involved Oliver and Les Miserables in London’s West End, musicals locally at The Mayflower Theatre in Southampton, Grange Park Opera and film and television roles.   We have a Performance Team open to all main school students by audition, giving the chance for pupils to perform on local stages, charity shows and large scale events in London West End Theatres! In addition to our regular classes, there is added value in the form of offering LAMDA exams in Acting, written reports, theatre trips, specialist West End Musical workshops, audition technique and professional representation for film, TV and theatre work.

Classes cancelled

Due to the closure of The Westgate School over the weekend due to adverse weather and snow, we need to cancel our classes. Stay safe and keep practising those songs, scripts and dance routines. Look forward to seeing everyone again the following weekend. Alison

LAMDA Examinations

We are pleased to announce that our students achieved 100% pass rate in their acting exams back in July with the majority achieving distinctions. LAMDA is a fantastic way to build upon existing acting skills, develop public speaking and to become a more confident actor. Please speak to Alison at the school to find out more.

Shaftesbury Theatre

After appearing at Princes Theatre in Aldershot in June the team helped to raise an incredible £2746.00 for The Performing Arts Children’s Charity. For the next few weeks our exceptionally talented and enthusiastic team will be rehearsing for a West End appearance at Shaftesbury Theatre on November 26th.

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!
