Stagecoach Watford

Principal Katherine Barry opened the school in 1996 and can honestly say she has loved every minute. Having been principal for so long she is now seeing children of ex-students coming to Stagecoach which is lovely but does make her feel very old!
Taking part in performing arts can help your child develop confidence, self-esteem and creativity. Learning isn’t confined to the classroom, developing life skills, building confidence and having fun are all part of every child’s education and personal development. Research shows that children who regularly engage in performing arts become more confident communicators, are better at solving problems, more innovative and are more likely to enjoy school. At Stagecoach we teach children performance skills in a fun, stimulating environment that not only improves performance techniques, but also supports learning for life. Join us at Stagecoach Watford and see your child shine.

Stagecoachathome

Whilst we cannot deliver live Face to Face classes at the moment, if you’re not ready to try the live online classes then you can also get bite-sized video classes at stagecoachathome.com. This is a great way for new students to see what we do before enrolling.

Student in New Cop Drama

One of our students has recently appeared in the second series of Sky 1 cop drama 'Bulletproof'. Jodie spent several months filming for her role as Ali Pike and was delighted to be asked back after filming the first series in 2017. Latest News: Jodie is one of the 'poster girls' on our new marketing material - what a fabulous action shot!

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Fees in accordance with Main Stages.

Meet The Team

Principal - Katherine Barry

Katherine comes from a theatrical family and has worked in TV, film and the theatre both onstage and off! After a stint in two West End musicals in the 1980's she gave up acting to have her family. Then in 1995 an advert for Stagecoach caught her eye and she opened her first school in April 1996. She has been putting her knowlege of show business to good use at the Watford Stagecoach ever since and loves every minute of it!
