Drama, Dance and Singing Classes in Upper Norwood

Welcome to Stagecoach Upper Norwood

Performing Arts School for 4-18 years.
Welcome to Stagecoach Upper Norwood Theatre Arts, where we are passionate about developing the skills and life skills of young performers. My name is Charissa Miller-Hayles and I myself attended a Stagecoach performing arts school between the ages of six and eighteen. I then began assisting and teaching and have now entered into the role of principal. Throughout my life Stagecoach Theatre Arts has provided me with confidence and has inspired my love for Musical Theatre and Performing Arts. I am a principle that wholeheartedly believes and trusts in Stagecoach and all it offers to children, both on and off the stage.

Stagecoach Upper Norwood is a fun and vibrant place to gain confidence, learn new skills, have fun, and new friends are just a few of the things all students can gain with us.

The Autumn  term at Stagecoach Upper Norwood  is a ‘free term’ where the term is about learning and developing the students skills. The theme for the mains school and early stages will be ‘performance and projection’.
As the term falls within the winter term and is so close to Christmas the students will be working on a mini pantomime to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.

Stagecoach Acting, Singing and Dance Classes & Times

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

OUR TRAINING
Stagecoach Upper Norwood Performing Arts School for children has a team of dedicated, DBS checked teachers who have a great passion for what they do. Our teachers know their craft and work extremely well as a team. They provide a wonderful environment where the students can be creative, build in confidence, learn new skills and thrive in the performing arts.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
Our students work on a range of dance styles in our dance classes including Hip Hop, Commercial, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and many more. In drama classes they explore devising in a group and understanding script work. In singing lessons they work on Harmonising as a group using Pop and Musical Theatre material. All three disciplines provide the students with room to use their imaginations and be a part of the creative process. At the end of each term they have the opportunity to perform to their parents to proudly showcase how they have developed.
