Stagecoach Taunton

Welcome to Stagecoach Taunton where we provide an exciting platform for students from 4-18 years to explore the performing arts.

All three disciplines are taught at Stagecoach, singing, dance and drama in a safe, caring and inspiring environment, all under one roof. We are here to encourage and develop each child individually whether as a fantastic hobby or a stepping stone to a career within the performing arts; we are here to provide a ‘Creative Courage for Life’. No previous experience is necessary, just a bundle of enthusiasm!

No audition is required for new students - all they need is enthusiasm, commitment, and a love of Performing Arts. Two-Week trial sessions are available for all new students.

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Fees in accordance with Main Stages.

Principal - Anne Garrett

Anne has spent all of her working life within the performing arts, starting out at the age of sixteen in a dancing career that spanned ten years.

She travelled around the world spending five years at the Lido in Paris, two years at the MGM in America, TV credits and contracts in Sweden and South Korea.

Having gained a huge amount of experience and knowledge in the theatre world, Anne returned to England and opened her own theatre school is Sussex. She taught all three disciplines: singing, dancing and drama. Anne ran the school for 25 years before handing the reins to a former student.
