Stagecoach Sudbury

Stagecoach Sudbury Theatre Arts in Suffolk believes in each and every student whether they need encouragement for their confidence or they simply have a passion to perform! Our weekend performing arts classes cater for children aged 4-18 in the Sudbury, Newton, Great Cornard and surrounding areas, and we are proud of our students, and their individuality. Stagecoach Sudbury performing arts school has been open since 2004, and we continue to lead our students by example, providing them with innovative and creative tuition through dance, singing, acting and drama classes.

Students are offered performance opportunities, specialist workshops and the option to take performing arts grades encompassing dance, drama and singing. With a wonderful team behind her of committed, innovative, and experienced teachers, Principal Katie could not be more proud of Stagecoach Sudbury. Whether children are interested in becoming more skilled performers, would benefit from confidence-boosting, or just need help to understand that they are special and unique, Stagecoach Sudbury is ready to welcome them!

Parents Takeover!!

Last weekend we saw parents from the Main School joining in with our Parents Do Stagecoach. £200 has been raised so far for the Performing Arts Children's Charity, and lots of rosettes were won. We hope everyone had fun, and that the students survived the embarrassment!! Next stop, Early Stages Parents' turn - no excuses! 22nd June 2019.

Exams to suit all!

Stagecoach students will take their annual exams next term. Principal Katie was so proud last year to announce the results of all Merits and Distinctions, going all the way up to Grade 8! More students than ever are taking part - here's to the next Grade up in our Autumn Term! They really are exams to suit all, and we hope more students join in.

And relax!!

Our 'Sport and Spice' show was fab and the students were amazing on that stage. DVDs of this great show have helped raise over £120 for the Alzheimer's Society. Next stop, Autumn term and our PANTO crazy Demo!

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Principal - Katie Cole - BA (Hons)

Katie has been a part of Stagecoach Sudbury since it started nearly 10 years ago.

After completing her degree in acting at Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts, Katie went on to act in several theatre tours all over the country and her particularly favourite parts were in pantomime. Some of her roles have included Cinderella, Fairy Godmother and Maid Marion.
Her career then took her into teaching and leading drama workshops throughout Suffolk. She was also a presenter on local radio for 6 years.
Katie has seen many students grow and develop over the years at Stagecoach and fully believes it is the best place for confidence building, team work and, most importantly, to have fun!
