Stagecoach Southend

A warm welcome to our Southend school website, here you will find everything you need to know about our Southend School.  This is where we provide quality part-time training in the performing arts for children aged 4-21yrs.  Our aim is to nurture and develop young people’s potential through singing, acting and dance classes. The classes, based in Leigh-on-Sea, will stretch young imaginations and help to develop confidence, physical awareness, communication and articulation - as well as being educational and fun.  You will get the opportunity to act, sing and dance in a friendly and fun environment. We have specific goals each term, working towards an end of term concert, Accredited exams or our Summer Showcase in a local professional theatre.
Part of the Stagecoach South East Essex group of Schools, we are open every Saturday afternoon during term time, why not come and join the fun!

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Stagecoach Early Stages

Our 90-minute Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, giving young performers the chance to learn key skills in each of the three musical theatre disciplines of singing, dancing, and acting each week. These fun and engaging sessions build skills and confidence, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Stagecoach Main Stages
Our 3-hour weekly Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing, and acting. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Stagecoach Further Stages
Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Fees in accordance with Main Stages.

Meet The Team

Principal - Sasha Drayton

Sasha has been passionate about the performing arts from a very young age and went on to train professionally in Musical Theatre.  After graduating, she pursued performing as a career and enjoyed successes in the performing arts industry, including the UK tour of ‘The Naked Truth’, performing alongside Faye Tozer and Vicky Michelle.  Whilst working as a professional performer, Sasha taught at various Stagecoach schools, where she has seen her students secure West End roles in shows such as ‘School of Rock’ and ‘Matilda’, as well as commercials and TV work.

Sharing her passion with other people and students is something Sasha loves doing and her experience as a teacher has allowed her to see first-hand the positive effects of Stagecoach for children and teenagers. She really believes in Stagecoach’s fundamental value of “Creative Courage for Life”, and that the educational programme is a brilliant platform for children who want to pursue performing careers. She also believes it's equally as good for all those children who need a bit of a confidence boost, to build on life skills or just enjoy it as a hobby.

Sasha is very excited to be running Stagecoach Southend and creating exciting performance opportunities and stories of achievement with all her students.
