Stagecoach Salford

Stagecoach Salford in Worsley provides children with the opportunity to participate in all three performing arts disciplines. Our drama, dance and singing classes help to develop confidence, physical awareness, communication and articulation whilst having fun and making new friends. At Stagecoach Salford we pride ourselves on our highly skilled and dedicated team of teachers with a wealth of experience, led by Principal Laura, whose passion for the performing arts is shared by teachers and students alike. Many students who train with us for several years go on to pursue professional careers in musical theatre or the arts. Others simply benefit from the confidence gained and positive relationships formed during their time with us. Whatever your reason for coming to Stagecoach, we aim to prepare each child for success with creative courage for life!

Holiday Workshop Success

Our 2018 summer holiday workshops were a huge hit! In just 5 days we produced two shows: Jolly Holiday (ages 4-7) and Summer of Rock (ages 8+) and they were fabulous! Children made new friends, gained a lot of confidence throughout the week and we are so proud! Head over to Facebook for all of the news & photographs.

Beauty & The Beast

Congratulations to our students for a fabulous production of Beauty & The Beast Jr! To help celebrate 30 years of Stagecoach, we took part in a Guinness World Record attempt for the largest simultaneous performance of one show! The performance took place on Sunday 1st July 2018 and we can't wait to hear the outcome of our attempt!

LAMDA Examinations

We offer our students the opportunity to take LAMDA examinations in acting, verse and prose and musical theatre each term. From introductory exams to grade 8. Higher grades are awarded UCAS points. We maintain a 100% pass rate. Last session, 48/51 students were awarded Distinctions with two students receiving an incredible 100/100. Well done!

We are excited to announce that we have signed up for Disney 2020! Watch this space....

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Meet The Team

Principal - Laura Walker

Laura began her training at Stagecoach Didsbury and then Salford in 1999. She was one of their very first students and stayed at the school for 5 years. She went on to study musical theatre and gained a triple distinction from Pendleton College in Salford. In 2008, she received a diploma in professional production skills from the Guildford School of Acting, and then in 2012, Laura graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a degree in media professional studies with television production.
In between her study years she travelled to the USA where she worked as a camp counsellor, teaching drama, running a singing club and directing the musicals at a full season summer camp in Vermont. She worked at the same camp for four summers. She enjoyed her time in the States so much that she decided to live and work as an au pair near San Francisco, California, for two years. Alongside her Stagecoach duties, Laura is a licensed chaperone for children in theatre, TV and film.  She is delighted to be back where it all started as the Principal at Stagecoach Salford and looks forward to seeing each and every child grow as they discover what Stagecoach means to them.
