Stagecoach Richmond

Welcome to Stagecoach Richmond

Stagecoach Richmond has been established for twenty years, and continues to uphold its excellent reputation as a pioneering performing arts school for local children. For the past twelve years, Stagecoach Richmond has developed in even more innovative directions under the leadership of its Principal, Jo van der Westhuysen. Our venue at Kings House School is the ideal environment for Jo and her team of dynamic teachers to fully explore the disciplines of drama, dance and singing, as part of a comprehensive performing arts experience.

We are passionate and dedicated to achieving the highest possible standards in a fun and exciting environment.  Our priority is to develop the self-confidence of every one of our growing students by allowing them to express themselves in new and imaginative ways. This experience gives the students invaluable life skills, fantastic foundations for future learning, and wonderful new reaches of creative expression. Our aim is to give our students creative courage for life.

Perfomance Group

Our Performance Group are presently working very hard outside their regular Stagecoach hours, in preparation for their performance at the Shaftesbury Theatre on Sunday 26th November. It will be such an exciting opportunity for them to perform in a west end theatre and we have no doubt they will be fantastic!

LAMDA

Did you know that Stagecoach Theatre Arts Richmond offers students the chance to take LAMDA exams? Students work with our specialist coach, Jack Coleby, to prepare their pieces and then perform them in front of an examiner. These exams are a fantastic way to improve children's confidence as well as expanding their skill set.

TV STUNT WORKSHOP

On Saturday 14th October, our specialist workshop leader, Patrick will be revealing industry secrets, walking students through a normal day on a film set and letting them loose on an action sequence of their own. This fun and action packed day will give our students a real insight into what it takes to be a Hollywood Stuntman.

Thank Abba for the Music

On Saturday 25th September, 20 lucky students from Stagecoach Richmond will be given the fantastic opportunity to perform the Abba song 'I Have A dream' alongside the cast of 'Thank Abba For the Music' in their evening performance at Richmond Theatre. We are all very excited!

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!
