Stagecoach Portishead

Welcome from your Principal - Fae McIntyre.

Welcome to Stagecoach Portishead where we provide quality part-time training in the performing arts for children aged 4-18yrs.
We believe our classes can help every child reach their potential and will make a difference in whatever they want to be, giving them the tools to explore, perform, create and take risks in a safe and nurturing environment. We are proud to offer a full and rounded education, teaching life skills to build confidence and stretch imaginations, allowing each child to develop at their own pace with the support of the group.

There is no audition to join and no experience necessary. We welcome all levels and abilities. Come and join in the fun!

Registers are now closed for the Autumn term but we are currently taking bookings for the start of our Spring term on 11th & 12th January 2019. We offer Two Week Trials at our schools for new students - a great way to settle in and discover what we offer at Stagecoach.

SUMMER SCHOOL SUCCESS

We welcomed 45 students to our Summer school this year and we all had a great time! Students devised their own show in just one week! Next years plans are already in place with details being announced in the new year. Keep an eye on our social media accounts for information and announcements.

WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT

We are awaiting the results of our world record attempt performance on Disney's Beauty and the Beast from the 1st July. We will be sure to post any news once we have it.

BRISTOL HIPPODROME 2018

Stagecoach Portishead performed at the iconic Bristol Hippodrome in March to celebrate it's 30th anniversary! The students received a roar of applause from over 1,000 audience members and it was a great success. Students also received a 'break a leg' message from ex-student, Tuppence Middleton (War and Peace, The Imitation Game & Dickensian).

BBC SPECIAL FX WORKSHOP

Last term our Friday school students took part in a special effects workshop led by Victoria! They had lots of fun learning how to create bruises and wounds fresh from the set of BBC's Poldark!

Parent Testimonial

"The teachers are fantastic, sharing their knowledge and supporting the children as they learn to develop and refine their own skills. They have had so many opportunities through Stagecoach that they just wouldn't have had anywhere else. Both children love attending Stagecoach and can't imagine not going"

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)
