Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

Principal - Lisa van der Horst

Lisa started singing and dancing at a very young age, then went on to train at Highbury College of Acting and Performance. From there she went straight into the world of musical theatre playing many leading roles in West End tours, revue shows travelling around the world performing on cruise ships, elaborate venues and many pantomimes in the UK.

Theatre credits include: Miss Belle (Fame), Mrs Potiphar (Joseph), Vicky Nicholls (The Full Monty), Cora (Calendar Girls), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Helena and Titania (A Midsummer Nights Dream), Lady Capulet (Romeo and Juliet) Principal boy,Wicked Witch ( various pantomimes in the uk) Yvonne Atkins (Bad girls) Barbara Castle (Made in Dagenham) TV credits include: Sandra Smith (Sirens ITV), Presenter (Portsmouth TV), I Capture the Castle (film), Mad about the Boy (Film), Trevor's World of Sport (Comedy BBC), Families (ITV Drama).

In the past 8 years Lisa has worked as a teacher at various stage schools in the north west. It has been very satisfying to pass on her theatre experience and knowledge in this way. This has also provided her the opportunity to devise and direct several
shows with youth groups.

Having taught at both Stagecoach Shrewsbury and Oswestry the opportunity arose to take the leading role as Principal at Shrewsbury and now Oswestry!

At Oswestry and Shrewsbury Stagecoach our professional team will help the children learn stagecraft and help them grow in confidence.

Lisa very much looks forward to take pupils on their own personal journey, in a safe, secure and loving environment - gaining skills for life!
