Stagecoach North Manchester

Hello and a very warm welcome to Stagecoach North Manchester from your Principal, Bethany Turnbull, Vice Principal, Alison Turnbull (a mum and daughter duo) and our teaching team!

Our classes run on Sunday mornings at The Heys School, Prestwich. The classes are engaging, fun and energetic and there are no requirements for you to join - just bring your imaginations and plenty of energy!

Many Stagecoach students go on to train professionally but our motto is “Creative Courage for Life” meaning that, no matter what you decide to do in life, we believe that a grounding in Performing Arts will give you the confidence and capability to achieve anything.

With an abundance of opportunities, from performing in shows and competitions, undertaking LAMDA examinations and taking workshops in Stage Combat, Film Acting and other related skills, there’s something for every child at Stagecoach North Manchester.

We are now recruiting for our SPRING TERM and to commemorate 2 years of Stagecoach North Manchester we are preparing for a SHOW! Friends and families will be welcome to join us at the fabulous 53two Theatre in Manchester for our production 'JUKEBOX MUSICALS' - we can't wait!

Meet The Team

Principal - Bethany Turnbull

Beth first joined Stagecoach Blackburn back in 2004 as a timid little girl who would barely speak aloud. Bitten by the drama bug, she attended Stagecoach for a further 10 years and left as their longest running member at the time. She went on to pursue Performing Arts at Runshaw College, gaining her Musical Theatre Diploma before undergoing her ‘Foundation in Acting’ at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA.) She then took a few years out to work in a Primary School as a Teaching Assistant in her local school’s Special Educational Needs department alongside running Performing Arts workshops as part of the school’s After School and Holiday Club. Combining her love of teaching and performing, Beth went back to Stagecoach Blackburn as their Early Stages Teacher and then completed a term as the Main Stages Drama Teacher before undertaking her Bachelors Degree at the Manchester School of Theatre (MST) on their accredited Acting course. In her final year at drama school, she decided that she missed Stagecoach so much that she agreed to do some cover work for Stagecoach Bolton and then never left! She now teaches the Early Stages and Further Stages on a Saturday and runs her own school on a Sunday. You could say that Stagecoach is in her blood!

Beth has performed in various plays and musicals over the years including ‘The Thrill of Love’ at The New Millennium Theatre, Rossendale and ‘The Rise and Fall of Little Voice’ where she played the titular role (Little Voice) at Blackburn’s Thwaites Empire Theatre. More recently, she had her professional debut in HER Production’s: ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ at Hope Mill Theatre, Manchester. She continues to work as a freelance Actor/Singer.

Stagecoach was not only a place for her to develop her performative and communicative skills, but a safe space to take risks, make bold choices and form friendships that have lasted her a lifetime. She owes her confidence to this company and opening her own franchise is a full circle moment for her. She is so excited to meet new children and share some of that magic with them.

In light of the pandemic, she believes that children need - now more than ever - an outlet to develop Creative Courage for Life.

Whether your child wants to pursue a career in the arts, or simply wants to learn new skills in a fun, energetic and nurturing environment, Stagecoach provides a whole host of opportunities for your child to develop. It truly is a company with your child’s best interests at its heart.
