Stagecoach Milton Keynes East

“Of course, as well as building confidence, people can still find their way into the profession; what we give is the chance for our students to perform to the best of their abilities and go on to fulfil their potential in all walks of life, not just on the stage”.

Sue founded Stagecoach Milton Keynes with husband Bob in 1997 and then opened Milton Keynes East in 2007 to enrich and inspire children through the performing arts. We can and do help those with stars in their eyes, yet we are not only teaching singing, dancing and acting, we are also strong advocates of Creative Courage for Life.

“The Principal is rightly proud of this school, setting a relaxed but focused atmosphere and the students are very happy. The whole morning flowed beautifully from the prompt start to the well-organised end. This is an outstanding school.” Independent Review.

Meet The Team

Principal - Sue Beard - BA(Hons) Music PGC in Radio, Film & TV

"Running Stagecoach MK East is a joy; I get to work with dedicated teachers, who create a buzzing atmosphere where students continue to thrive".

Sue taught singing at some of the very first Stagecoach Schools in the late 80's and is still Singing Coach at Stagecoach in Stony Stratford when she is not running Woburn Sands. An accomplished singer and pianist, Sue gained a music degree from York University before taking a postgraduate media course at Bristol University. She toured much of the world as an actress/musician before taking a 'proper job' at the BBC. Initially employed behind the cameras, Sue soon started appearing on-screen as a singer/songwriter and comedy actress in TV programmes throughout the 80's & 90's and carved out a niche for herself on the Live Alternative Comedy Circuit.

" It was through my comedy career that I met my husband, Bob, at The Edinburgh Festival. We later set up Stagecoach in Milton Keynes and have had the pleasure of seeing it continue to grow both in reputation and in student numbers".

Under Sue's vocal direction, hundreds of Stagecoach students have sung in professional roles at Milton Keynes Theatre, notably in SOUTH PACIFIC, CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG and JOSEPH and others have enjoyed West End roles, recently in THE LION KING and OLIVER!

"Of course, as well as building confidence, people can still find their way into the profession; what we give is the chance for our students to perform to the best of their ability and go on to fulfil their potential in all walks of life, not just on the stage."
