Stagecoach Milton Keynes

Almost 30 years ago, Bob and Sue founded Stagecoach Milton Keynes with a vision to nurture young talent. We are proud to say that our students not only build confidence, but also frequently find their way into the professional world. We have an impressive number of current and former students who are now performing on the West End stage, starring in major TV series, and even Hollywood movies!

At Stagecoach Milton Keynes, we are dedicated to providing young people with the opportunity to perform to the best of their abilities and go on to fulfil their potential in all aspects of life, not just on the stage.

“You’ve created more than just a school at Stagecoach; you’ve built a true family. Emma has formed such lovely relationships with you, the teachers, and the many students who have come and gone, and been there all along. That sense of connection and belonging is a testament to the culture you’ve nurtured – one that reflects the care with which you choose your team and the values you’ve instilled in Milton Keynes.”

“Your supportive and kind approach radiates through everything and everyone. In a world filled with online pressures and challenges, you’ve provided a small, safe haven for confidence to bloom – a place that has remained constant. A place of learning, creativity, encouragement, and most importantly … fun.” - Stagecoach Milton Keynes parent.

We're delighted to share that our most recent Independent Review rated our Early Stages, Drama, Dance, and Singing Classes all as "Outstanding."

“The atmosphere and dynamic of this school is one of happiness, energy and professional standards.”  Independent Review for Stagecoach Milton Keynes.

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Stagecoach Early Stages

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage. (90 minutes each week).

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Stagecoach Main Stages
Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Stagecoach Further Stages
Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Fees in accordance with Main Stages.

Meet The Team

Principal - Sue Beard BA (Hons) in Music, PGC in Radio, Film and TV

“Running Stagecoach Milton Keynes has been a joy for almost 30 years, and it has never felt like work!”

Sue's journey as a performer, writer and teacher began with a passion for music, which she studied at York University, followed by a postgraduate media course at Bristol University. This led her to a production role at the BBC. She then toured extensively as a jazz singer and pianist in the UK and abroad, regularly performing live as a singer/songwriter and comedy actor, appearing on numerous TV and radio shows throughout the 80s and 90s.

It was during her comedy career at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival that Sue met her husband, Bob. Together, they founded Stagecoach Milton Keynes in 1997.

Under Sue’s vocal direction, many Stagecoach students have achieved remarkable success. Hundreds have performed in professional roles at Milton Keynes Theatre in productions such as *South Pacific*, *Chitty Chitty Bang Bang*, *Jesus Christ Superstar*, and *Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat*. Others have secured West End roles in *The Lion King*, *Les Misérables*, *Tina - The Musical*, and *Oliver!*

Sue's involvement with Stagecoach began back in 1988 when she taught singing at the very first Stagecoach School in Surrey.

"Stagecoach changes lives for the better. And it not only changed the course of my life, but also the course of millions of other lives too. From that one small school in Surrey, which I am so proud to have been a part of, Stagecoach grew globally. And I am privileged to have been part of something that has made me and others so happy”.
