Stagecoach Lincoln South

A warm welcome to you all from the team at Stagecoach Lincoln South (formally Hykeham), where we're keen to share the enjoyment of performing with you all. We provide part time training in the theatre arts for children aged 4-18 years, allowing our students to sing, dance and act their way to a more confident self. We provide a strong combination of learning and performing, with a wide variety of opportunities for everyone. We like to get creative and some of our past performances include: Performing for the Mayor of Lincoln, 'Suessical Junior!', Performing at Her Majesty's Theatre in London and much much more!

The Autumn term begins on Friday 13th September and we have spaces for new recruits! This is out Demonstration Term: we work on new skills, new material and new challenges in each disciple, then this culminates in a demonstration performance for families at the end of term. We love to help our students believe in themselves and gain confidence that translates into real life.

To get involved, and to enrol for this term, call Principal Kat on 01522 690580.

Hitting the Stage!

Our students love to perform, and aren't afraid of a big stage! In April 2019 they performed at The Barbican Theatre in York alongside 10 other Stagecoach Schools. They performed 'Be The Hero' from the musical Big Fish, and were a huge hit! Past Regional Events have been Her Majesty's Theatre in London, and The Cressett Theatre in Peterborough!

The Spectacular Screen Show! Workshop this Summer was a huge success with current students and new comers attending. We explored the world of television through singing, dancing and acting to make a short performance for families at the end of the week. Keep your eyes peeled for details of upcoming holiday workshops.

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

Meet The Team

Principal - Kat Hendy - BA. MA. FHEA.

Kat was born and raised in the Hykeham (Lincoln) area. As a child she danced at the local private dance school, was involved with LAODS (Mack & Mabel, Anything Goes, Guys & Dolls) as an ensemble member, played electronic keyboard and even had a stint playing the oboe! She studied dance, music and performing arts at the local 6th form before making the move to London.
Kat trained in dance and performing arts (BA) at Middlesex University, London. During this time she was asked to work alongside the faculty to audition prospective students. She then went on to train and perform as a dancer/performance artist in New York City, USA. Kat has worked extensively as a choreographer, teacher and creative practitioner of performing arts throughout Lincolnshire, working with a very wide variety of age groups and organisations. She has also completed a Masters degree (MA) in Choreography, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). She is now a Lecturer in dance at the University of Lincoln alongside her role as Principal at Stagecoach Hykeham.
Kat is drawing on all her skills from her wealth of experiences to allow the students at Stagecoach Hykeham to flourish, build confidence, and thoroughly enjoy their time at the school.
