Stagecoach Leeds Morley

We provide part time drama classes on Sundays in Leeds Morley where children learn how to sing, act, dance and perform.

Ken Davison has been a Stagecoach Principal for 13 years, and runs a caring school which aims to help each child develop their confidence and performance abilities, and give them the best possible CV should they wish to study any aspect of the performing arts in Higher Education.

Past students have studied performance at various universities, and have appeared at EuroDisney, West Yorkshire Playhouse, The Leeds Town Hall, and in touring productions at the Grand Theatre Leeds.

The School regularly enters students for Lamda and Trinity exams and has an excellent track record of Exam success.

To enrol for a two week taster or arrange a visit to the school, call Ken on 01757 248884.

Further Stages

Our Further Stages group is for Students aged 15+. This term they have all taken individual or duo exams at Level 3, which means they've earned some valuable UCAS points. This has been the culmination of two years work, which has seen the group do site specific performances for Light Night in Leeds in the Leeds Library.

Early Stages

Our Early Stages groups are for 4 - 6 year old's. This Summer their End of Term Show had a Summer Holiday theme, with songs, dances, mime and acting! For many of the children it was their first time performing for parents, and they did so with confidence and spirit!

Wanted - Young Performers

Each week our students enjoy learning Musical Theatre skills of Acting, Singing and Dance for 3 hours. We build their Creative Courage, giving life skills which they'll use long after they've left Stagecoach.

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Fees in accordance with Main Stages.

Principal - Ken Davison - B.Ed. (Hons) Dip.Mgmt (OU)

Ken has always had an interest in Theatre. He originally trained as a teacher in Oxford whilst taking every opportunity to do lighting and stage
management for various groups around the city! He taught English and Theatre Studies before leaving teaching and becoming a bank manager. In 2003 he left the bank and went back to his roots - running Stagecoach gives a great opportunity to pass on some of the fun and benefits he has gained from theatre over the years!
