Stagecoach Keighley and Skipton

A warm welcome from Stagecoach Theatre Arts School Keighley and Skipton! We offer quality part-time training in the performing arts for children aged 4-18yrs, covering Dance, Drama and Singing. Our aspiration is that Stagecoach Keighley and Skipton is a friendly, inspirational environment where our students feel encouraged to reach their full potential. Alongside our weekly classes and holiday workshops, our students take part in full-scale shows.

Some of our previous shows include: Guys & Dolls, Annie, Beauty and the Beast, and The Wizard of Oz. Students are also given the opportunity to gain qualifications through LAMDA exams, and have a wide variety of professional casting opportunities for film and stage.

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

Meet The Teachers

Principal - Laura Holden - BA(Hons) PGCE (FE) MA

Laura trained and studied at the University of Leeds and gained a BA Honours Degree in Popular World Music. Her degree specialised in composition and recording studio work, which involved making a portfolio of her own compositions and recordings. After her degree, Laura continued with her studies at the University of Leeds, gaining a PGCE in further education and an MA in Education.
 
Before University, Laura gained her singing and piano qualifications at the Blackburn School of Music. Whilst being at college, Laura enjoyed teaching Performing Arts to young people. She is currently part of a professional singing duo performing in various venues throughout Yorkshire.
