Stagecoach Hykeham

A warm welcome to you all from the team at Stagecoach Hykeham (in Lincoln), where we're keen to share the enjoyment of performing with you all. We provide part time training in the theatre arts for children aged 4-18 years, allowing our students to sing, dance and act their way to a more confident self. We provide a strong combination of learning and performing, with a variety of opportunities for everyone. We like to get creative and some our past performances have included Flashmobs in Lincoln, Performing for the Mayor of Lincoln, Matilda, Little Shop of Horrors & Regional Stagecoach events.

Last term saw us create, direct and film our own music videos, and this term our Main School will be performing their biggest show yet 'FAME Junior'! Our Early Stages School will be performing 'Billy Goats Gruff'!

For more information, and to enrol for the new term, call Principal Kat on 01522 690580!

Autumn Term Demonstration

The Autumn Term is well under way, and students are working hard in all classes! Early Stages are busy exploring 'Around the World', and the Main School are getting stuck into some script-based work, some Street Dance routines, and focusing on some complex harmony work! The term will finish with a rousing Demonstration Night from all students.

Summer Success

The 'BROADWAY BONANZA' Summer Workshop was a huge success this August! Participants ages 6-13 years all took part in the exploration of famous musicals such as 'Cats', 'Annie', 'Oliver', 'Aladdin', and 'Tarzan'. The 3-day workshop included singing, dancing, and acting, with participants giving a rousing end performance for family and friends!!

Congratulations to our Main School who performed 'Fame Junior' this term. All students did a fantastic job and really gave their all, embracing the 1980s theme! What a fantastic end to the term!

Performance Opportunities

Stagecoach Hykeham are always seeking opportunities for the students to perform. Performing publicly allows students valuable experience, while boosting confidence and being incredibly fun! Shopping Centres, Flashmobs, Christmas Markets & a concert for the Mayor are just some of our adventures so far, with lots more to come soon!!!

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Meet The Team

Principal - Kat Hendy - BA. MA.

Kat was born and raised in the Hykeham (Lincoln) area. As a child she danced at the local private dance school, was involved with LAODS (Mack & Mabel, Anything Goes, Guys & Dolls) as an ensemble member, played electronic keyboard and even had a stint playing the oboe! She studied dance, music and performing arts at the local 6th form before making the move to London.
Kat trained in dance and performing arts at Middlesex University, London. During this time she was asked to work alongside the faculty to audition prospective students. She then went on to study and perform as a dancer/performance artist in New York City, USA. Kat has worked extensively as a choreographer, teacher and creative leader of performance throughout Lincolnshire, working with a very wide variety of age groups and organisations. She is now a part time lecturer at the University of Lincoln as well as an adult group exercise instructor.
Kat is drawing on all her skills from her previous experiences to allow the students at Stagecoach Hykeham to flourish and thoroughly enjoy their time at the school.
