Welcome to Stagecoach Hastings! We are a happy vibrant school training over 100 students in the three main performing arts disciplines every Saturday. We are very proud to have an excellent independent inspection record across the board in our dance classes, drama classes and singing classes. We pride ourselves on providing top quality performing arts training for children in the area. All Stagecoach theatre school Hastings students have the opportunity to perform in shows, take musical theatre exams and join the agency. We welcome children and young people of all abilities interested in acting, singing and dancing. performing arts training and theatre skills are a great way to build confidence through our acting classes, dance classes and singing classes. HASTING STUDENTS IN FILM

Well done to our 25 students involved in the filming of a new feature film, starring Gemma Arterton, to be released in the autumn. The Assistant director said 'I can't remember the last time we had such well behaved children on set'. what a compliment!

TOBY STARS IN MATILDA

Congratulations to Stagecoach Hastings student who landed not one but two starring roles in the UK tour of the West End production of Matilda Bruce AND Tommy. Toby is currently playing Denis in the RSC production of 'The Boy in the Dress' in Stratford-Upon -Avon.

LEAD FILM ROLE FOR DAISY

Well done Hastings student Daisy who recently played the lead role in a film alongside fellow Stagecoach Hastings student Alfie. Both got through several rounds of auditions to secure the parts.

SHOWCASE PERFORMANCE

22 students are looking forward to a performance in the Stagecoach South East Regional Showcase in October. This is a great opportunity to perform on stage in a professional theatre and meet students from others schools in the region.

Performance Arts Awards

This term students have the opportunity to work on Performance Arts Awards - Graded examinations in musical theatre. This process is great fun and gives the children access to a varied assortment of musical theatre resources. Previous results were outstanding with 100% pass rate and a large number of students gaining Merits and Distinctions.

SUMMER WORKSHOP 2020

After the success of our spectacular summer workshop production of Aladdin at St Mary in the Castle last year. We return with our 2020 workshop Fame Jr 3rd -7th August. Anyone between the ages of 8 and 18 is welcome to join us! It promises to be a fantastic week with a great show at the end. See you there!

Weekly Classes

Mini Stages (for ages 2-4 yrs)

Mini Stages
Stagecoach Mini Stages (for 2 -4 year olds) 45 Minute Classes are a fun and exciting way for you and your child to actively experience the performing arts in a comfortable, relaxed and safe environment.

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

Meet The Team

Principal - Avril Crawford - ALAM, ATCL, ADPA

Avril has been acting and singing for many years. She has worked all over the UK and appeared in many musicals. She has a teaching Diploma from Trinity College London and is an associate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Avril has written and directed many shows and has her own production company. She has taught Speech and Drama at a number of schools and coached pupils of all ages in drama and singing for auditions and examinations. Avril is also Principal of Stagecoach Theatre School in Folkestone.
