Stagecoach Folkestone

Stagecoach Theatre Arts Folkestone is a part-time performing arts school for children and young people looking for classes in acting, singing and dancing. Unlike a drama school or youth theatre, Stagecoach Folkestone is a place where kids can come along for a three hour intensive session of top quality training in all three theatre disciplines once a week. All our students have the opportunity to perform in shows, take musical theatre examinations and join the agency. Parents often remark how much confidence their children gain after joining the school and students tell us how much they love the classes.
 
All our performing arts classes are taught by experienced teachers with an excellent track record within the arts. The school is located in Folkestone, Kent and run by Avril Crawford, Avril specialises in the performing arts.

Students at Leas Cliff

We are delighted to have been again invited to take part in the professional tour of Abba Mania at the Leas Cliff. This is a fantastic opportunity and our students that took part two years ago had an amazing time singing on stage. WEe had some wonderful feedback and are very much looking forward to it this time around.

Performance Arts Awards

We are very excited to be working on Performance Arts Awards this term. This means our students will be be working on 'mini musicals in order to gain a certificate at the end of term. These graded examinations in musical theatre are great fun and extremely rewarding.

Joseph at The Leas Cliff

Stagecoach Folkestone students were proud to form part of the choir for the professional tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat when it came to the Leas Cliff Hall in March. This is a fantastic show and we were very excited about this opportunity.

CIRCUS TERM

It is a very exciting time at Stagecoach Folkestone as we have lots of exciting projects lined up. We had a fantastic term exploring our theme 'Circus', working on songs, dances and getting creative in drama. We are looking forward to our Performance ARts Awards and our summer term performance.

Why don't you book a 2 week trial with us? It's only £25 for Early Stages - 4-6 yrs, 90mins, and £50 for Main Stages - 6-18 yrs (Sibling discount of 50% for Main Stages - 6-18 yrs). END OF TERM SHOW

Congratulations to all our students who took part in our end of term show. The performances were brilliant and we are very proud of each and every one of you! The audience were extremely impressed with the high standard of work produced this term.

BANDSTAND PERFORMANCE

Our talented students did a fantastic job when they were invited to perform at a charity event earlier this month. The 25 students performed a medley of song and dance for the appreciative crowd at Oaklands Bandstand in Hythe. Well done everyone!

Weekly Classes

Mini Stages (for ages 2-4 yrs)

Mini Stages
Stagecoach Mini Stages (for 2 -4 year olds) 45 Minute Classes are a fun and exciting way for you and your child to actively experience the performing arts in a comfortable, relaxed and safe environment.

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

Meet The Team

Principal - Avril Crawford - ALAM, ATCL, ADPA

Avril has been acting and singing for many years. She has worked all over the UK and appeared in many musicals. She has a teaching diploma from Trinity College London and is an associate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She has taught Speech and Drama at a number of schools and coached pupils of all ages for festivals, auditions and LAMDA exams. Avril is also Principal of Stagecoach Theatre School in Hastings.
