Stagecoach Faringdon

A very big welcome to Stagecoach Faringdon! We believe that the whole world is a stage and the skills children learn at Stagecoach Faringdon will help them at school, university and in their future careers.  We provide children with the opportunity to participate in all three performing arts disciplines - drama, dance and singing - helping to develop confidence, physical awareness, communication and articulation - as well as being educational and lots of fun.

Early Stages Show Term

SPRING TERM is SHOW TERM and our Early Stages Students (4 to 6 years) will be working on a show called 'Billy No Buzz'. This is a truly delightful musical with a big message, including tolerance and acceptance of others who may be different to ourselves. This is set to be our BEST TERM yet!

Main Stages Show Term

SPRING TERM is SHOW TERM! Our Main Stage students will be working on a show called 'Breaking News'. Which is a comic look at 24 / 7 news culture involving Spiderman, Superwoman & Catwoman and the cities ghosts! This is a light-hearted look at how the 24/7 news culture affects the lives of the rich, famous and not so famous.

Further Stages Show Term

SPRING TERM is DEMO TERM! Further Stage students will be working on a showcase! Teenagers with a flair for performing can take their singing, dancing & acting to a higher level in our 3 hour weekly classes. Through in-depth training & master classes, teenagers 14+ are encouraged to hone their performance skills, working as a small theatre company.

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Fees in accordance with Main Stages.

Birthdays & Celebrations

We understand that with the increasing demands on parents, juggling the pressures of work and family life, time is of the essence. Therefore Stagecoach Parties provide a way to remove the stress from what should be a day of celebration for everyone and allow you to sit back, relax and let us do all the work! Whether they want to be fairies, pirates or detectives, there is a Stagecoach Party for everyone!

Meet The Team

Principal - James Barker

James has spent the last 21 years in entertainment, he started as an ‘all singing and all dancing’ Butlin’s Redcoat, in Bognor Regis which was an excellent foundation to build his career.
From there he went to sea to work for Princess Cruises hosting daytime and evening activities including ballroom dance classes, line dance classes and gameshows. After one year he was promoted to Deputy Cruise Director and shortly thereafter to Cruise Director. James was responsible for the day to day smooth running of the Entertainment Department, which included hosting live TV shows and theatre productions. He operationally led a team of 120 performers including singers, dancers, production crew, bands, acts, DJ’s, youth and cruise staff. He was very privileged to be the inaugural Cruise Director on several brand new cruise ships during his time with Princess Cruises.
James more recently has been working on ‘dry land’ as Director of Entertainment for Warner Leisure Hotels. He was responsible for the Entertainment at all the Warner properties throughout the UK. He was responsible for the strategic planning and brand direction of the entertainment offer. His proudest moment at Warner was collaborating with the National Symphony Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra to create bespoke shows that would normally only be available at the Royal Albert Hall.

James, his partner and their two children love living in Faringdon and are proud to be part of the local community. James is a warm people person, who loves to make a big difference to his team and students. He has bags of creativity to build a strong syllabus that will be fun, educational, stimulating and rewarding.
James is excited to start inspiring Creative Courage for Life in his new students.
