Welcome to Stagecoach Performing Arts Didsbury

With over 700 theatre schools and more than 40,000 students, Stagecoach is the largest network of part-time performing arts schools for children. We provide high quality part-time training in the Performing Arts for children aged 4 – 18 years. Our aim is to nurture and develop young potential through singing , acting and dancing classes for children – stretching young imaginations, building confidence and life skills whilst having fun through all the three disciplines. Our Principal , Anne, has a background as Head of Music in a comprehensive school,Head of Performing Arts in a Further Education college and as an ABRSM music examiner, and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience that she aims to input into the school and students. She is fully committed to providing a first class experience for all children and a productive education in the world of performing, at the same time helping students to develop in confidence, and achieve individual goals and ambitions.

Meet The Team



As of April 2017, we will be running a new EARLY STAGES class for 4-7 year olds aside our Friday Main School from 4.15-5.45 pm. Children will explore their creativity as they develop singing, dancing and drama skills in our engaging performing arts classes. Please email Anne for details!

Summer Workshop 2017

Following the massive success of our fantastic summer workshop last year, we're thrilled to announce that we've booked another week of fun for students this coming summer. Dates: Monday 31st July to Friday 4th August Ages 4-7 years : 9.30-12.30am , Tales from Madagascar Ages 7-18 years 10am-4pm, Let's Rock ( with show at 7pm on Friday)


We are excited to announce that we are returning to Dance The Dream at Disneyland Paris in summer 2018! Places will be open to all students and available on a first come first served basis. Stay tuned for further details...


At Stagecoach Didsbury we love to give our students extra opportunities to perform at numerous events throughout the year. We also run Junior and Senior Performance troupes. Highlights include: Stockport Plaza, Halifax Victoria theatre, Geronimo festival, Shaftesbury and Phoenix Theatres in the West End, DisneyLand Paris,


Stagecoach students are offered the opportunity to take Lamda exams every term. Lamda exams offer the student an individual acting or musical theatre lesson . Our experienced tutors achieve incredible results . Last session we achieved 48 distinctions out of 51 students and we have 100% pass rate. Upper grades receive UCAS points.

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

We understand that with the increasing demands on parents, juggling the pressures of work and family life, time is at an essence. Therefore Stagecoach Parties provide a way to remove the stress from what should be a day of celebration for everyone and allow you to sit back, relax and let us do all the work! Whether they want to be fairies, pirates or detectives, there is a Stagecoach Party for everyone!

Meet The Teachers

Principal - Anne Boardman - GRSM ARMCM

Anne is a graduate of the Royal Manchester College of Music (now the Royal Northern College of Music). She studied piano, singing and clarinet. Prior to opening Salford and Didsbury Stagecoach Schools she was Centre Manager for Performing Arts at Wigan and Leigh College. Anne is also an examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Because of Anne's classical training she is able to train the students in singing when they are asked to appear in operas in Manchester, and students at Stagecoach have been able to sing in French and Italian in operas such as Carmen, Tosca, Turandot, La Boheme, Nabucco and Aida. Anne has been the Principal of Stagecoach in Didsbury for fourteen years since it opened in September 1999.
