Stagecoach Dewsbury

Stagecoach Dewsbury has been providing quality part-time training in singing, dancing and acting for over 10 years. We are proud to offer a full and rounded education, teaching life skills to build confidence and stretch imaginations. Principal, Cevin gets as much pleasure from seeing a shy child, who won't leave his parents on the first day of term, shine at the end of term performance, as he does from seeing a talented pupil pass an audition. This is because he used to be that shy child and it was performing in school shows and amateur productions that helped him grow in confidence. He feels that every job and every career choice needs a certain element of performance to do it well from dealing with customers to holding important meetings.

Meet The Team

Principal - Cevin Barker

Cevin believes Stagecoach provides training for life, not just skills for those who want to follow a career in the performing arts.
He gets as much pleasure from seeing a shy child, who won't leave his parents on the first day of term, shine at the end of term performance, as he does from seeing a talented pupil pass an audition. This is because he used to be that shy child and it was performing in school shows and amateur productions that helped him grow in confidence. He feels that every job and every career choice needs a certain element of performance to do it well from dealing with customers to holding important meetings.
For over 25 years Cevin has performed in many musicals and plays taking lead and chorus parts, dancing and singing. He has worked and developed backstage skills for lighting, set design, sound and directing. He also worked for a time as a sound recordist for a small video production company where he also acted as cameraman and helped with editing, also adding his voice to some of the sound tracks.
For the past 2 years he has worked as Stage Manager during Panto season and this year he will be helping create, promote and direct 3 Pantomimes as well as performing in one of them.
