For our youngest...

We believe in offering big opportunities to our youngest students! Here are our Early Stages performing in a National Stagecoach Showcase at The Cresset Theatre in Peterborough! These events support confidence, conviction and self belief and are loved by students, teachers and parents!

We offer LAMDA exams!

We are thrilled to be able to offer private one-to-one sessions for any students wanting to do LAMDA examinations. Taught by Chantelle, these classes are excellent for students wanting to learn about public speaking, improve their drama skills and increase their monologue repertoire. The exams even count towards UCAS points!

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

Meet The Team

Principal - Rachel Betts

Rachel graduated from Royal Holloway University of London with a first class honours degree in drama and theatre and later went on to achieve a Masters with distinction in Applied Theatre. Since then she has become a lecturer on the Royal Holloway 'Theatre in Education' course where students visit local schools to create theatre projects with teachers and children. In 2006 Rachel set up Patchwork Theatre to run drama workshops in schools, hospitals and community settings and create exciting, imaginative theatre with young people. This stems from a passion to embed the arts alongside the curriculum and a belief in the potential of drama to develop young people's confidence and communcation skills. She has led drama projects internationally in the townships of South Africa and India and has worked extensively across the UK as a drama practitioner for the Creative Partnerships. Rachel's aspiration for Stagecoach Croydon is that it is buzzing, inspirational environment in which the students feel encouraged to reach their full potential whether they are coming to develop confidence, make friends or with a professional performing arts career in their sights.
