Meet The Team

Principal - Rachel Betts

Rachel graduated from Royal Holloway University of London with a first class honours degree in drama and theatre and later went on to achieve a Masters with distinction in Applied Theatre. Since then she has become a lecturer on the Royal Holloway 'Theatre in Education' course where students visit local schools to create theatre projects with teachers and children. In 2006 Rachel set up Patchwork Theatre to run drama workshops in schools, hospitals and community settings and create exciting, imaginative theatre with young people. This stems from a passion to embed the arts alongside the curriculum and a belief in the potential of drama to develop young people's confidence and communcation skills. She has led drama projects internationally in the townships of South Africa and India and has worked extensively across the UK as a drama practitioner for the Creative Partnerships. Rachel's aspiration for Stagecoach Croydon is that it is buzzing, inspirational environment in which the students feel encouraged to reach their full potential whether they are coming to develop confidence, make friends or with a professional performing arts career in their sights.
