Stagecoach Cobham

Welcome to Stagecoach Performing Arts Cobham!
We provide high quality part-time training in the Performing Arts for children aged 4 - 18 years. Our aim is to nurture and develop young potential through singing, acting and dance classes for children - stretching young imaginations, building confidence and life skills whilst also having fun through all the three disciplines. Our Principal, Jo, has a background as a professional actress, ex West End agent and published author, and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience that she aims to instil into the school and students.
Jo, alongside her fantastic team of teachers, strives to deliver excellence in education, and inspire the students of Stagecoach Cobham - allowing each and every child to flourish not only in class, but in life.

Meet The Team

Principal - Jo Bentley

Jo has over ten years of experience in the Entertainment Industry as a professional actress, ex-West End agent and published author. She graduated from the University of Winchester with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Performing Arts, and then went onto train at the London School of Musical Theatre (LSMT).

She spent six years in the performing world, performing in the West End, regionally, recording cast albums, performing in and producing dozens of concerts around the country fulfilling many of her ambitions.

Whilst touring in Dr Doolittle, Jo felt a natural pull to move across into the world of Agenting and secured employment straight away at top London theatrical agency – Cole Kitchenn Personal Management where she spent 5 happy years.
As a TV and theatre agent, she helped represent a number of celebrity clients including Jennifer Ellison, Christopher Biggins, Ian H Watkins, Roxanne Pallett, Sid Owen and Michelle Collins to name but a few, as well as handling her own roster of clients. More importantly, she also had a hand in discovering, nurturing and mentoring young clients on the road to a career in the Arts - and it’s here that she found ultimate contentment.

Being able to uncover hidden treasures in each and every student, helping them to achieve their own success and instilling confidence and individuality is what has driven Jo to become the Principal of Stagecoach Cobham. This, and a palpable love for the Arts that she feels a responsibility to share with the young people of today.

Jo’s ultimate goal is for students to enjoy drama, dance and singing as much as she did when she was their age. Wanting each child to look forward to their classes, to feel that for a period of time, they can escape whatever life they lead outside of those four walls. They can explore, create and discover in a safe environment - hopefully helping each to learn a bit about themselves in the process. Her goal is to bring all aspects of the professional theatre experience into the Stagecoach environment with the help of TEN amazingly talented teachers, providing each and every student with the experience they deserve.
