Welcome to Stagecoach Chorleywood.

We are a friendly, family run school providing high quality, part-time training in the performing arts to children aged 4-6 yrs and 6-18 years. We aim to nurture and develop young potential through singing, acting and dance classes - stretching young imaginations, building confidence and life skills whilst always having lots of fun every weekend in a warm and caring environment. All ages and abilities are always assured a very warm welcome at our school. No experience necessary!

We love performing and each year we host a show at Watersmeet, a Christmas show at our schools, demos for parents to watch, plus our students even perform in the West End! We even. offer optional Lamda exams for ages 5yrs+.

Our teachers are all trained performers who are passionate about teaching and combine their own performing careers with nurturing and inspiring our wonderful students - some attended Stagecoach when they were younger too!

We have worked with our talented teachers to create a calendar of fun and exciting classes for our students to attend. Our three disciplines, singing, dancing and acting classes will be delivered to you every Saturday from 23rd May. All you need is access to a computer and a safe space so your child can jump straight back into Stagecoach

Dear Families... Stagecoach has suspended classes due to Covid 19. We will make up the classes missed when we can and offer you a range of flexible options. Child Care Vouchers

We are delighted to be be Ofsted registered and able to accept Child Care Vouchers as payment for term fees in all our classes. We are now registered for the Government Tax Free Child Care Scheme as well.

Early Stages FREE Classes

We are proud of all the amazing work our super Early Stages do building confidence and taking their first creative steps with us. Whilst we cannot focus on shows, demos and magical class activities right now, we are delighted to offer a FREE mini virtual class to all our younger students. Featuring show and tells, games and dance and more!

NT Connections Festival!

We run dynamic classes tailored to older students. This year students were delighted to be involved in the National Theatre's Connections Festival performing a challenging new play. We also welcomed Lia Given to our school too to inspire. Lia was in the original cast of Hamilton and has worked as a Dance Captain on several West End Shows.

We are a BIG Lamda Centre

As an established Lamda centre, we offer grades from Intro/Entry to Gold Medals in Acting, Musical Theatre or Verse and Prose via personalised tuition. Training takes place whilst students are at Stagecoach and class work is vital to ensuring students do well. Last year over 80 students took a Lamda exam with 90% gaining a Merit or Distinction.

Visit DisneyLand Paris

We were delighted to perform at DisneyLand Paris last summer and star in the pre-parade and open the park with characters from The Lion King! Students and families had a magical time and the whole experience was incredible. In fact we loved it so much we will be doing it all again when we can! Come and join us....

West End Performances

We are delighted to take our students to perform at Shaftesbury Theatre, Her Majesty's Theatre and The Adelphi in London's West End. We work a piece up to a wonderful standard featuing dance and song interwoven, add in awesome costumes and BOOM! go out there and perform infront of a packed audience. We cannot wait for the next one!

FREE Street Dance Company

Every weekend we host an amazing street dance crew. Free to join for all our students the club isd led by our resident dance teacher and run for the students, by the students! We have performed locally as well as in London's West End. The team is passionate and talented and we warmly welcome all new crew members.

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

We understand that with the increasing demands on parents, juggling the pressures of work and family life, time is of the essence. Therefore Stagecoach Parties provide a way to remove the stress from what should be a day of celebration for everyone and allow you to sit back, relax and let us do all the work! Whether they want to be fairies, pirates or detectives, there is a Stagecoach Party for everyone!

Meet The Team

Principal - Kitty Gould - MA (Voice) RCSSD

Kitty has many years experience as Principal of Stagecoach Chorleywood and Rickmansworth, providing drama classes, dance classes and singing classes.  Kitty grew up in the local area and has spent her life working in the performing arts. She was performing in the West End and singing professionally from an early age and has performed in many venues throughout the UK.  She has appeared on The Royal Variety Show, Top of the Pops, The Lorraine Kelly Show, This Morning and in several music videos too. 

Kitty has an MA in Voice from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and a BA (Hons) in Drama and Music.  Kitty has worked with Stagecoach as a singing, drama and LAMDA teacher since 2002 as well as with other theatre companies and several prestigious drama schools.  She has helped to organise big arts projects through Creative Partnerships with organisations including The British Museum, the Barbican Arts Centre and West End Live.  More recently Kitty has started working with the American Music Theatre and been performing in Paris.  Kitty focuses on ensuring the school offers a warm and positive welcome to all students where confidence, resilience and joy are at the heart of this creative, caring school.
