Stagecoach Chichester

A very big welcome to Stagecoach Chichester! Anyone that comes to visit us here agrees that there is a wonderful atmosphere, and the schools are buzzing with energy and excitement. Stagecoach provides children aged 4-18 with the opportunity to participate in all three performing arts disciplines - drama classes, dance classes and singing classes - helping to develop confidence, physical awareness, communication and articulation - as well as being educational and lots of fun.

Carmen!

Our main stages pupils were invited to perform in the opera Carmen at the Kings theatre. They all had the chance to experience hair and make up and got to wear the traditional costumes alongside the touring cast. We were so proud of each and every one of them and so glad they got to experience this!

ETAJ: Shaftesbury Theatre

We aim to provide our students with many exciting West End opportunities. In this photo, Stagecoach students performed an 'Everybody's Talking About Jamie' piece in the Shaftesbury Theatre! Costumes! Lights! Show Time! ⭐️

Madame Butterfly!

Our pupils are often given the opportunity to perform in professional operas within nation-wide tours. Our recent Madame Butterfly opera included some of our Main School pupils and one Early stage pupil, Sophia. We were incredibly proud of them for performing a piece (after only a day's rehearsal on stage) in front of hundreds of people! Well done!

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Stagecoach Early Stages
Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Stagecoach Main Stages
Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

Meet The Team

Principal - Emma Bentley

Emma’s love for performing and specifically, singing, started at a young age. At age 16 Emma was accepted to study a vocal performance diploma at the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) in Guildford, Surrey. Emma continued her studies and left the academy in 2015 having graduated with a BMus honours degree in vocal performance. Emma began her teaching journey, working for various music tuition companies and setting up her own vocal coaching company with a client list of over 20+ students.
Alongside teaching, Emma pursued her passion for performing live and performed regularly in jazz & pop duo, trio and function bands across Surrey and London. Some of these venues include Gilgamesh London, Cliveden House, Metropolis studios and Novotel West. Emma still performs and recently became the singer for the house Jazz band at Mr Whites restaurant in Leicester Square.
Emma has worked for many Stagecoach branches over the years and has a huge passion for performing arts and in particular, helping children develop their confidence through performing. Having started as a singing teacher at Stagecoach Chichester 4 years ago and then promoted to the manager in December 2021, Emma has a wonderful relationship with both the pupils and
parents.
Emma is very excited to be the Principal for Stagecoach Chichester and can’t wait to create lots of performance opportunities for the pupils.
