Stagecoach Blackburn

A warm welcome from Stagecoach Performing Arts School Blackburn! Established in 2004, we offer a nurturing, caring environment for students to learn and develop their performing skills whilst gaining confidence and making new friends. Our excellent team of highly experienced teachers offer exciting, fun lessons as well as preparing the students for shows and performances. We are very lucky to run our school in the beautiful performing arts building at St Mary's College.

With over 700 theatre schools and more than 40,000 students worldwide, Stagecoach is the UK's largest network of part time performing arts schools for children. Since our inception in 1988, our singing, acting and dancing classes have helped to build the confidence of many thousands of children, as well as providing a springboard for some of the country's leading young performers. Every student participates in all three performing arts disciplines - drama classes, dance classes and singing classes - helping to develop confidence, physical awareness, communication and articulation - as well as being educational and lots of fun! In addition, opportunities exist for students to be offered professional work in film, theatre and modelling by the Stagecoach Agency.

Barricade Boys

What a brilliant time we had, performing with The Barricade Boys at King George's Hall! Students got to sing two numbers with them - Barry Manilow's 'One Voice' and the ever popular 'Million Dreams' from The Greatest Showman. A fab evening and another great performing opportunity!

Thank Abba for the Music!

We were so pleased to be asked to perform, when the touring production of the well established Abba tribute show - 'Thank Abba for the Music' - came to the Empire Theatre, Blackburn in January! Students loved the experience of rehearsing and sound checking with the cast before performing live on stage... along with chatting back stage!

Schools Gotta Dance

What a fabulous job our students did, performing in the recent Schools Gotta Dance event at Burnley Mechanics!

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)
