NEW TERM 6TH JANUARY!

Our NEW TERM starts back on January 6th! Want to come and get involved? Sign up for a two week trial to come and see what it’s all about ... next term we are working towards a recording project where each group will create and record their very own single. We also have a West End Workshop booked for 24th March to wrap up our end of term!!

STAGECOACHERS IN PANTO!

A huge congratulations to Ben, Oliver and Indie from Stagecoach Barnstaple who have all landed roles in this years Panto of 'Beauty and the Beast' at The Queen's Theatre Barnstaple! The Panto will run throughout Christmas with rehearsals well underway and tickets selling fast. We can't wait to see them all in action!

ABBA MANIA!

The cast of ABBA MANIA came to Barnstaple Queen's Theatre on November 30th and we were asked to provide a choir of 30 to perform alongside them. After some extra rehearsals and a tech run with the super friendly cast, the choir performed to a 'sold out' theatre with the audience on their feet the whole way through. Another wonderful fun experience!

JOSEPH SUCCESS!

In November this year we provided a choir of 64 students to perform for 10 shows alongside the cast of the West End UK Tour of 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' (starring Joe McEldery!) at the Queen's Theatre Barnstaple! We had a fantastic time, lots of hard work but lots of fun too! A wonderful experience for all involved!

'Guernsey' Feature Film!

Over 40 of our students were lucky enough to be asked to play 'evacuees' in the filming of a new feature film 'Guernsey Literary Potato Peel Pie Society' that was filmed in Clovelly in May. The film stars Lilly James (Downton Abbey) and Michiel Huisman (Game of Thrones) and our lucky Stagecoachers got to work alongisde them! An amazing experience!

Filming with Bill Bailey!

Earlier this year several of our students were asked to appear as extras in a brand new television series staring Comedian Bill Bailey! The series is set at a local Zoo and our students had to act as visitors for the day. We can't give away too much but it will be on television later this year - we will keep you posted!

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Meet The Team

Principal - Kate Ridley-Holloway ADPA UKCA

Kate started her love for the Performing Arts many years ago at this very school; Stagecoach Barnstaple and Bude! This great school instilled her passion for the arts and has led to her enjoying a wonderful career, both performing and teaching.

Kate has many years of experience performing with professional touring pantomimes and shows, including working as a choreographer for London-based music videos and stage tours.

Coming back to Devon after a few years on the road, Kate discovered her love for teaching; setting up dance classes in the local area, working in primary and secondary schools, with youth and amateur dramatics groups and of course with many Stagecoach Schools both as a teacher and as Deputy Principal. During this time she also completed her Performance Arts Teaching Diploma with 'Rock School' London as well as training in many other disciplines including stunt work, cheerleading, circus skills, musical theatre and the teaching of the younger years.

With her performance background, teaching experience and love for the arts, Stagecoach Barnstaple and Bude certainly is a passion of hers!
