We are BACK and we have a fantastic new home for the term ..... THE QUEENS THEATRE BARNSTAPLE! We can't wait to start our new term on 19th September. Contact us right away if you would like to join us for a two week trial as places are VERY limited. We can't wait to get back to doing what we all love and seeing our amazing students! #letsdothis

Stagecoach Barnstaple had an exciting year in 2019 with our Variety Night, a West End 'Wicked' Workshop, a performance with the boys from COLLABRO and Think Floyd at The Queens Theatre. We also performed 'The Day The Crayons Quit', 'Carry On Holiday', ‘Billy No Buzz’, ‘Cinderella’ and ‘Cluedo’!! What a busy year!

Amazing LAMDA Results!

25 of our students aged from 7-16 years, opted to take their LAMDA Solo Acting Exams in the Spring of this year. After weeks of hard work and one to one tuition with our LAMDA Tutors they got the results ... 100% PASSED!! All 25 students achieved a Merit or above with most at Distinction level! We couldn't be prouder!!

We are so proud of our 30 strong Stagecoach Choir that performed alongside the one and only COLLABRO at The Queens Theatre in March. They sounded fantastic! I had a message from the production company congratulating our students on their performance and on their professionalism backstage saying they were all a pleasure to work with. PROUD SCHOOL!

In November this year we provided a choir of 64 students to perform for 10 shows alongside the cast of the West End UK Tour of 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' (starring Joe McEldery!) at the Queen's Theatre Barnstaple! We had a fantastic time, lots of hard work but lots of fun too! A wonderful experience for all involved!

'Guernsey' Feature Film!

Over 40 of our students were lucky enough to be asked to play 'evacuees' in the filming of a new feature film 'Guernsey Literary Potato Peel Pie Society' that was filmed in Clovelly in May. The film stars Lilly James (Downton Abbey) and Michiel Huisman (Game of Thrones) and our lucky Stagecoachers got to work alongisde them! An amazing experience!

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Stagecoach Early Stages
Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Stagecoach Main Stages
Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Stagecoach Further Stages
Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Fees in accordance with Main Stages.

Meet The Team

Principal - Kate Ridley-Holloway ADPA UKCA

Kate started her love for the Performing Arts many years ago at this very school; Stagecoach Barnstaple! This great school instilled her passion for the arts and has led to her enjoying a wonderful career, both performing and teaching.

Kate has many years of experience performing with professional touring pantomimes and shows, including working as a choreographer for London-based music videos and stage tours.

Coming back to Devon after a few years on the road, Kate discovered her love for teaching; setting up dance classes in the local area, working in primary and secondary schools, with youth and amateur dramatics groups and of course with many Stagecoach Schools both as a teacher and as Deputy Principal. During this time she also completed her Performance Arts Teaching Diploma with 'Rock School' London as well as training in many other disciplines including stunt work, cheerleading, circus skills, musical theatre and the teaching of the younger years.

With her performance background, teaching experience and love for the arts, Stagecoach Barnstaple certainly is a passion of hers!
