Stagecoach Aberdeen West

Welcome to Stagecoach Aberdeen West where we provide quality part-time training in the performing arts for children aged 6-18 years.

Our aim is to nurture and develop young potential through singing, acting and dance classes in Aberdeen, stretching young imaginations and building confidence. We are open every weekend during term time and workshops during the school holidays, come join the fun!

Notices 1

LEAVING..... If you know that you are leaving at the end of the Summer Term could I ask that you let us know half way through the term or before as we currently have a growing waiting list and that gives us time to make arrangements with the new students accordingly.

UNIFORMS...... We will have samples of uniform for you to try on. These will be available on the 13th of May.

MAIN SCHOOLS - DEMONSTRATION DATE The Demonstration Day is the 24th of June and will be held in the Theatre. MORNING - arrive in theatre for 11.45. Starts at 12.00. AFTERNOON - arrive in theatre for 15.45. Starts at 16.00. Medals & awards will be issued on this day.

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

Meet The Team

Principal - Yvonne Wheeler - BA (RSAMD) : DIP ED (Glas)

Yvonne is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama), Glasgow University and Jordanhill College of Education and is, at present, a Principal teacher of drama in a secondary school.
She has run numerous drama workshops in Aberdeen and Glasgow and has extensive experience of working with young people in theatre/drama workshops and has devised and directed numerous youth theatre productions.
Yvonne is also a drama examiner for the Scottish Qualifications Agency.
