A Super Spring at Stagecoach

A Super Spring at Stagecoach
We’ve had a busy few months here at Stagecoach. From showcase events to a conference with our Principals to a big birthday, we’ve been all over the UK, and across the continent.

Back in April, we celebrated our 35th year of bringing high quality performing arts classes to children and young people. Our roots go back to Surrey in the UK but over the decades, we’ve expanded time and time again and now we span eight countries and have helped over one million students reach their full potential. Even since the early days, we’ve always had building confidence at the heart of our work.

It’s not just our students that make us proud to be celebrating our 35th anniversary as our recent annual conference shows. Our Principals from across the world gathered in Leicester to discuss and celebrate the theme, Together Towards Tomorrow. We had a series of workshops and two fantastic keynote speakers, Michael Matania of Tough Cookie and former student and writer/actor Rob Madge. We finished up with a fun night of dinner, entertainment, dancing and karaoke!

As always, we’ve also had many events over the last few months, both in the UK and in Germany featuring schools from across the network performing on stages in the West End and in regional venues. We’re always excited to see our students perform and we have plenty more performance opportunities coming up over the summer, but more on that later in the blog!

This past spring, we started running our Industry Experience Days which have been hugely successful. These events are open to both Stagecoach students and non-Stagecoach students and support aspiring performers to get into the industry through audition experiences in an encouraging and friendly environment, a headshot taken by a professional photographer and the opportunity to be seen by top children’s talent agencies. We’ve been on the road the past few months bringing our Industry Experience Days to children across the country and this summer, we’re upping the ante with a whole Industry Experience Week in August featuring workshop leaders from across the industry sharing their expertise.

That leads up on nicely to sharing what’s to come this summer. Not only will students have the opportunity to show their skills at Industry Experience Week, we’ll also soon be heading to Twickenham for our annual Summer Showcase. This year, our cast will be jiving and driving back to the 50s for Grease the musical! Our cast will be rehearsing the show for two weeks before putting on four full performances of the hit show for audiences at the Beck Theatre in Hayes in August. Tickets are on sale now so don’t miss out!

We’ll also be taking a bunch of students to Disneyland Paris for Disney Dance the Dream, the perfect opportunity for any House of Mouse fans to be a part of the magic of Disney.

As always, whilst our schools close for the holidays, that doesn’t mean everything goes quiet at Stagecoach as we have plenty going on through the summer months. Make sure you have a look on our website to find what workshops are happening at schools near you and keep an eye on our socials to see how our Summer Showcase, Disney Dance the Dream and Industry Experience Week/Day students get on!
