Following our audition workshops and a final casting day full of energy, creativity, and collaboration, the creative team has carefully shaped a cast of 85 outstanding young performers from Stagecoach schools across the UK and beyond.

With principal roles double-cast, every student will have the chance to shine in a unique and supportive environment, bringing variety, fresh interpretations, and a true spirit of ensemble storytelling.

A Showcase that goes beyond the script

The final casting day was a celebration of courage and connection. For the first time, the full company warmed up together – establishing not just a cast, but a community. While some students joined remotely from international schools, their presence was fully felt through their energy and commitment.

This year, the creative team embraced a bold and thoughtful casting approach, intentionally challenging stereotypes and welcoming diversity across gender, background, and interpretation.

As Gary Jerry, Director put it: “There’s no one-size-fits-all in acting. We’ve given our students the freedom to shape their roles, and we’ve been genuinely surprised and inspired by the bold choices they made. We saw the students take risks both physically and vocally during the casting day, which was absolutely fantastic.”

Why Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?

A magical car, mischievous villains, and toe-tapping tunes like “Toot Sweets” and “Hushabye Mountain” make this beloved musical a timeless classic. But beyond the spectacle, it’s the characters who drive the heart of the story – each one quirky, hopeful, brave, and real. And this cast is ready to bring them to life in ways you’ve never seen before.

Whether you’ve seen the film or it’s your first introduction, this is a family-friendly production that promises laughter, warmth, and wow moments for all ages.

REVEALED: The Cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang 2025

All principal roles are double cast for alternating performances.

Caractacus Potts

Tomasso, aged 17, Stagecoach Fulham
Oliver, aged 16, Stagecoach Cardiff

The eccentric and lovable inventor with a heart of gold. Caractacus is creative, scattered, and determined to protect his children and their flying car.

“Tom and Ollie are two fantastic and energetic options for Caractacus Potts – they demonstrate not only a leadership quality in their acting, a passion and excitement about the text, but also the vulnerability and supportive nature that any good father figure needs in a show like Chitty.

“Caractacus is a character who battles everyday between his child-like zest for life and his undying commitment to his family – I have no doubt that Tom and Ollie have the dynamicism in their portrayals to make us laugh and sob in equal measures.” – Gary Jerry, Director

Truly Scrumptious

April, aged 16, Stagecoach Cardiff
Eve, aged 15, Stagecoach Twickenham

A strong, intelligent, and kind-hearted character who quickly becomes part of the Potts family.

“April and Eve are two stalwarts of previous Summer Showcase productions, and both brought such a new vibrancy in particular to our casting day. They’re two very different Truly interpretations, but they show such strong spirit in their dialogue reading.” – Gary Jerry, Director

Jemima Potts

Darcey aged 10, Stagecoach Trowbridge, Frome and Westbury
May aged 10, Stagecoach Abingdon, Didcot and Wallingford

Bright, curious, and full of imagination – Jemima helps drive the story forward with heart and wonder.

Jeremy Potts

George aged 12, Stagecoach Halesowen                                                                                                           Christopher aged 10, Stagecoach Ormskirk

Inquisitive and kind, Jeremy joins his sister on a thrilling adventure filled with danger, courage, and plenty of sweets!

“Darcy, May, George and Christopher are going to be wonderful siblings! What I enjoy about all four is that they not only identify with some of the personality traits of their characters, but they also know how to communicate with an audience in an effective manner.” – Gary Jerry, Director

Grandpa Potts

Will aged 15, Stagecoach Basingstoke
George aged 16, Stagecoach Saffron Walden

Caractacus’ eccentric father who’s always telling tall tales—but sometimes, they turn out to be true!

“Will and George have demonstrated both a zest for life and a sense of wisdom in their audition material – a kind and warm delivery and they also showed great connection to their potential show grandchildren in improvisational work. Both have really tuneful and pleasant voices too – they create that sing-song nature in their delivery that so many lovely grandparents do!” – Gary Jerry, Director

Baron Bomburst

Sean aged 16, Stagecoach Mansfield
Joshua aged 15, Stagecoach Evesham

The tyrannical ruler of Vulgaria with a love of toys and a flair for the absurd.

Baroness Bomburst

Millie aged 16, Stagecoach Newport

Tamsin aged 15, Stagecoach Cambridge

Delightfully wicked and wonderfully over-the-top. The Baroness is flamboyant, dramatic, and full of surprises.

“We are going to have an absolute riot with these four performers! All showed a great flair in the comedic realm – they allowed themselves to move towards the extremities of characteristics – bordering on that fantasy world we’re trying to create. I’ve no doubt of the potential on stage chemistry for both teams and I think their ‘Bombie Samba’ is going to be a potential show stealer!” – Gary Jerry, Director

The Childcatcher

Kath aged 17, Stagecoach Cirencester
Betty aged 17, Stagecoach Altrincham

Terrifying yet fascinating, the Childcatcher is a sinister figure reimagined for 2025 – challenging the cast to explore bold choices and character depth.

“The role I’ve thought about the most for our production – how do we make such a character so accessible in 2025? Well, I think we start with two mature and mindful artistes in Betty and Kath.

“We have two actors who have the knowledge and understanding to be able to create something unique in the room, and also make bold and brave choices in the safe space that we have physically, in line delivery and exploring the characters back story.

“We have an outline of this character in our minds, and I know that Betty and Kath can fill in the blanks or shade in the picture to create individual villains that we can connect to.” – Gary Jerry, Director

Toymaker

Raffaele aged 14, Stagecoach Leeds Roundhay
Primrose aged 12, Stagecoach Cardiff

A gentle, clever figure who secretly helps the children and rebels of Vulgaria.

Boris & Goran

Jack aged 16, Stagecoach Aylesbury / Jasmine aged 17, Stagecoach Leeds Horsforth
Libby aged 16, Stagecoach Portishead / Sofia aged 16, Stagecoach Cardiff

The comic duo of spies—full of physical comedy, quick wit, and over-the-top disguises.

Lord Scrumptious & Miss Phillips

Nicolas aged 15, Stagecoach Berlin Mitte / Simeon aged 17, Stagecoach Torquay & Newton Abbott
Izzie aged 16, Stagecoach Cardiff / Harmony aged 15, Stagecoach Uxbridge

From the sweet factory to the centre of the chaos, these characters bring charm and spark to every scene. While Lord Scrumptious is gatekeeper of “Toot Sweets” and a key early character, Miss Phillips is his straight-laced assistant full of quiet comedy.

Junkman & Coggins

Josh aged 16, Stagecoach Aylesbury/ Sofia aged 16, Stagecoach Oxford Summertown
Reuben aged 17, Stagecoach Farnborough / Oscar aged 15, Stagecoach Cambridge

Key figures in the early story who spark the journey to bring Chitty back to life.

Chef – Jude, aged 13, Stagecoach Barnsley / Joey aged 11, Stagecoach Solihull

Acrobat – Stella aged 14, Stagecoach Kingston & Surbiton / Freya aged 14, Stagecoach Bristol Keynsham

Violet – Lola, aged 15, Stagecoach Woking / Lucy, aged 16, Stagecoach Ormskirk

Gary added: “The ensemble are the undersold legends of theatre and arguably, the most crucial part of the cast – without them, nothing else works. Those cast in the ensemble have been selected because of transient nature of their skills. One minute, they will be a Morris dancer, and the next, a soldier in Vulgaria, so there will be such a huge variety in their performance, and we can’t wait to see them perform.”

This year’s team has been intentional yet flexible, and deeply collaborative. The casting process was not just about assigning roles, but about building an ensemble who support, inspire, and challenge each other.

We’ll be sharing more behind-the-scenes content as we head into rehearsals – but for now, help us celebrate this incredible cast and get ready for lift-off this summer.
