5 reasons to See Chitty Chitty Bang Bang – The Stagecoach Summer Showcase 2025
Our Summer Showcase cast will be taking to the stage so soon! If you're yet to book your tickets to the show at G Live, here are five reasons you won't want to miss seeing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang this summer!
The flying car is ready, the stage is set, and the excitement is building! This August, Stagecoach Performing Arts is bringing the much-loved musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to G Live in Guildford for a spectacular Summer Showcase production.
Whether you’re a proud parent, musical theatre fan, or just looking for the perfect family day out in the summer holidays, here are the top reasons why this is the show you won’t want to miss.
1. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a classic for a reason
The show features memorable songs by the Sherman Brothers, the same duo behind Disney’s Mary Poppins and The Jungle Book.
Sing-a-long spectaculars like “Toot Sweets,” “Hushabye Mountain,” and of course the iconic title number, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang fills this musical with humour, adventure, and heart in equal measure.
Created by Ian Fleming (yes, the creator of James Bond!) and made famous by the 1968 film, the story is packed with fantastical invention, lovable heroes, and larger-than-life villains. It’s funny, bizarre, a little bonkers – and completely brilliant.
2. Perfect for all ages
This is truly a family-friendly production -ideal for first-time theatre-goers, nostalgic adults, and everyone in between. With a magical flying car, wacky inventions, and a story about family, courage, and imagination, it connects across generations.
Young children will love the characters – even the villainous Childcatcher who brings a blend of fun and a little bit of fear to this bespoke production. Adults will enjoy the humour and songs they grew up with. Grandparents will smile the whole way through. It’s a full-circle moment for the whole family.
3. An affordable way to support live theatre
Tickets start from just £12.50 per person, making this one of the most accessible ways to enjoy a high-quality stage production. You’ll be supporting both young performers and local theatre venues at a time when the performing arts need your backing more than ever.
In an era where screens dominate, live theatre offers something irreplaceable: energy, connection, and a sense of shared magic. Every ticket supports this vital artform, and everyone benefits.
4. It’s a celebration of young talent
This production features a cast of 85 talented Stagecoach students, selected from across the UK and internationally, who have been working hard to bring this magical story to life. From solo performances to ensemble energy, you’ll see just how far young performers can go with passion, training, and a stage to shine on.
For the performers, it’s not just a show – it’s a confidence-building, career-shaping, memory-making experience. And when you’re in the audience? You become part of their journey and may even be inspired to join your local Stagecoach school.
5. A professional-level production with a twist
This isn’t your average youth theatre show. With professional direction, lighting, staging, and choreography, the Stagecoach Summer Showcase is the real deal – former cast members have gone on to do incredible things both inside and outside of the performing arts world.
What’s more, every principal role is double-cast, bringing fresh perspectives and interpretations to each of the three performances.
No two shows will be the same. It’s bold, dynamic, and built to surprise you.
