Stagecoach Watford

A very warm welcome from Stagecoach Watford, which has been providing quality part-time training in performing arts for children aged 4-18 for over 25 years.
 
Classes covering singing, acting and dancing take place on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings at Parmiter’s School in Watford.
 
Principal Emily has enjoyed a high-level, exciting career as a professional opera singer and singing teacher. She and the dedicated and qualified team at Stagecoach Watford are passionate about building confidence and nurturing potential in children, which will benefit them throughout their education and into their adult lives. They aim to develop students’ imagination and social skills while having lots of fun, and always in a safe, professional and supportive environment.

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Stagecoach Early Stages
Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Stagecoach Main Stages
Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

Meet The Team

Principal - Emily Smith - BA HONS, MMUS, PG DIP

Emily’s musical training began at the University of Southampton, followed by the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (GSMD), where she gained a Masters with distinction and completed the internationally acclaimed Opera Course. Emily worked extensively as a freelance opera soloist, before spending five years in the chorus of English National Opera and six years with The Royal Opera House. Emily’s singing career has seen her perform throughout Europe and on several film soundtracks, notably The Hobbit and Harry Potter series.
 
Emily is an accomplished singing teacher, having taught in schools and at her own private teaching practice. She is passionate about using the Arts to encourage confidence, self-belief and to have fun!  
 
Emily lives in Rickmansworth with her husband who is also a singer and teacher, and seven-year-old twin boys.
