Drama, Dance and Singing Classes in Shrewsbury

Welcome to Stagecoach Shrewsbury

Performing Arts School for 4-18 years.
With over 700 theatre schools worldwide and more than 40,000 students, Stagecoach is the UK's largest network of part-time performing arts schools for children and teenagers aged 4 - 18 years. We ensure that each child gets the most out of their experience by building life skills and confidence while having lots of fun. Stagecoach Shrewsbury opened in 2001 and many of our students have gone on to achieve great things. Lisa finds watching the pupils grow in performance skills and confidence most rewarding. Seeing young people develop their talents and grow as individuals is her main goal.

Main Schools 6-15 years
This term Saskia, Lucy and Jamie will be keeping main schools on their toes. We were very lucky at the beginning of term to have Kane Parry join the team to deliver a West end workshop. The children had a super time, with Kane teaching a routine from the musical Wicked.
Pupils will be working on ‘Horrible History’ scripts with Saskia and Vicki in Drama. Lucy will be doing songs alongside this as well. Jamie is teaching pupils the Disney parade routine. Plus getting a spooky routine worked out for Dress up for Halloween on the 29th October.
Further Stages 15-18 years
Our 15+ mature student class has been such a success in the last 2 years. Vicki has some great ideas in store this term. We welcome more recruits to learn to do more in-depth work. Vicki is preparing pupils with 2 contrasting monologues to learn for auditions or to add to their portfolios. She will be using scripts from  Shakespeare’s ‘The Dream’ finding new ways to bring the funny ‘mechanicals’ to life. We want to help older pupils be more prepared for presentations, public speaking and auditions. These are key skills in life.
Exciting news
11 of our budding 10 year olds will be appearing in 'Carmen' this Sunday 2nd October! The children have all been very busy learning the famous ‘Toreador Song’, which is among the best known of all operatic arias. They will be singing in French, which has been challenging, but was also very rewarding for our students. We are very lucky to be have been asked for the 3rd year, to perform with the Russian State Opera, We hope you will all enjoy performing on Sunday. Break a leg!

Stagecoach Acting, Singing and Dance Classes & Times

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.
