Successful Easter Workshops!
Some of our pupils have been very busy performing in musicals over Easter.
In the Spotlight
Natasha and Erin had the privilege to perform in one of the best musicals of all time 'Evita' at Shrewsbury 6th form college.
The girls actually got the chance to play young Evita. They were brilliant and shared the part. Well done girls. Great show.
Tonight is opening night for students from HPQA Performing arts college. They are performing the hit musical 'Made in Dagenham' at the Theatre Severn.
Two more pupils from Stagecoach Elsa and Kieran will playing brother and sister to sold out performances tonight and tomorrow.
I got to have a sneak peak at the in rehearsals. It is looking great. Break a leg!! You will all be fantastic.
All pupils at our school get such great opportunities to take part in various shows with trained older performers.
Don't forget everyone we are back at Stagecoach this Saturday on the 16th April. See you there!
Finn Healey is getting ready to perform with the stars next week. Finn will be treading the boards and performing in Madame Butterfly with the Russian State opera at Theatre Severn on Friday 4th March.
Shrewsbury Stagecoach were approached once again to provide a pupil to play the part of the son in this professional production. We also had the opportunity last year for 10 pupils to sing in the opera Carmen with this company.
Finn cannot wait to meet the stars and work on stage beside them. Hamish Findlay will be working alongside Finn watching his every move as Finn's understudy. The boys will get the whole theatre experience on stage and backstage. What a fantastic memory for any child.
Good luck Boys.
We are all so proud of you.
A very sad farewell to one of our Further stages students.
Cerys will be sadly missed at stagecoach. She has been at Stagecoach for 12 years.
What staying power!
Now with College and studies coming up Cerys feels it is the right time to move on.
Further stages is a great opportunity for mature students 14-20 years to use their skills and knowledge to further their artistic talent.
We have a developed a close family group welcoming more students to Shrewsbury Stagecaoch.
Some students have been with us for 14 years.
Goodbye Cerys and all the very best from all at Shrewsbury Stagecoach.
We had such a fun day on our last day of term. The parents were invited to come along and watch their children perform on a bigger stage to see what they had been up to this summer term. The Main School performed with everyone on stage. Furthers Stages performed some pieces from Romeo and Juliet. We finished off on a high by showing our performance of the Wedding Singer that was performed at the Wolverhampton grand. After a little something to eat and drink from the buffet.Parents had the chance to mingle and chat to teachers. We then finished the presentation off with the students getting certificates and awards for special achievements this term.
What a Buzz for Bring a Parent Day!
We had such fun on our last day of summer term with our new afternoon school. Lots of parents turned up to learn the skills and support their children. The teachers certainly put the parents through their paces. Everyone was engaged, focused and ready for what the teachers had in store for them.
Singing involved a vocal warm up of 'I like the flowers I like the daffodils'. Some parents had great voices and harmonies too! Dance involved how our bodies move and work. They had to focus on the smallest of props ... feathers. The concentration was amazing. Drama had lots of parent participation with fun games and still tableaus.
Bring a Parent Day does give a good insight for parents to see how Stagecoach really works. After refreshments and cake!!
The children then showed their parents a little demonstration of what they had learned this term.
Our afternoon school only opened in April and we certainly have got a lovely group of children and also some very talented parents!
We would like to welcome our New Early stages teacher Gemma Sharp to our team. She brings wealth of experience in the performing arts and we can't wait to see her in action!
