Stagecoach Salford

Welcome to Stagecoach Salford, where we provide quality part-time training in the arts for children aged 4-18 years. Our aim is to nurture and develop young potential through singing, acting and dancing classes in Salford. No experience necessary, we cater to each individual child's needs, and you can trial the classes for two weeks before committing to a full term.

We are thrilled to announce that Stagecoach Performing Arts Salford is now accepting Tax free childcare and childcare vouchers! You can use these to pay for all classes and workshops.

NEA Musical Theatre exams

Spring 25 saw all of our Salford Stagecoach students taking part in the NEA musical theatre exams. Each group will received an outstanding DISTINCTION grade for their efforts! This is the highest grading across the board we have ever received, and we are over the moon with the talent and work ethic our students put in. Great job everyone

LAMDA

Autumn term 2025 sees the return of LAMDA exams for our main school students. Benefits include huge growth in self confidence, self expression, speaking and listening skills remarkably improve, sight reading, expansion in vocabulary,memory/recall improvements- they are a huge additional tool for any of our students wanting to expand their skill set

Junior & Senior Troupe

Our Troupe teams are performing at Chance to Dance Alton Towers and Salford Dance explosion, the Lowry Theatre this summer. They are busy working on their routine, and we can’t wait to show the audience members our work!

TV & Theatre Experience

Students of all ages have opportunities to be cast in local television & touring theatre productions. Recent student success includes: Les Miserables (UK Tour) Little Cosette, Biggleton (CBeebies), singing with Robbie Williams on tour, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Annie, Shrek, Identical The Musical UK tours, Operas, Children In Need and Blue Peter!

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Stagecoach Early Stages
Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Stagecoach Main Stages
Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

Meet The Team

Principal - Cathy Birkett

Cathy studied at Salford University, obtaining a BA Hons in Performing Arts. She spent 4 years in London becoming a big part of the British music scene, working as a session and backing singer for The Specials , The Feeling, The Drums, Peter Andre, Beverley Knight, Micha Paris, Emma Bunton and Russell Watson. In 2010 she won the MySpace 'One to Watch' competition, selected by none other than Taio Cruz and then went on to win the first ever series of “ Evo Music rooms” in 2011 where she supported the Doves for a Channel 4 TV series. She also took part in the first ever series of 'Must be the Music' and got to the semi-finals with her Gospel band, CK Gospel Choir, wowing the judges Sharleen Spiteri, Dizzie Rascal and Jamie Cullum. In 2012 she performed at the "Biggest Band" show at Wembley Stadium and the one-year countdown to the Olympic's show for BBC 1's "The One Show" at Trafalgar Square!

Throughout all of the above, Cathy has worked as a singing teacher for various Stagecoach schools, and took over ownership of Stockport Stagecoach in 2011. She is now so excited to be starting Salford Stagecoach and bringing the fabulous Stagecoach teachings and ethos.
