At Stagecoach Newbury we understand how important it is to provide our students with as many opportunities as possible to perform in exciting venues as well as learning about the theatre. All our children have access to be a part of the events as being completely inclusive is an integral part of our ethos. Performing outside of their usual Stagecoach environment gives our students the ideal opportunity to experience life on a professional stage, as well as learning the values of teamwork. The process also helps them to develop in confidence and self-esteem, skills they can use in everyday life.
Recently our students have performed at theatres in Newbury in Oliver, Dick Whittington and Les Miserables and The West End in The Seussical. We have students acting in short films and on Doc Martin. Locally we perform in the carnival, at Fairs and dance shows. These fantastic opportunities allow our students to gain valuable experience of a career in the performing arts.
Students also have the opportunity to take LAMDA exams whilst at Stagecoach. LAMDA exams are a recognised drama award taught by a specialist coach. These exams are a wonderful way to build confidence, improve acting and communication skills, whilst preparing students for their individual exams.
Every other year we also take our students to Disneyland Paris to perform on stage as well as in the famous pre-parade, watch the video below to see our students in action!
