Meet The Team

Principal - Katherine Pledger

Katherine has a life-long commitment to the performing arts having made her stage debut aged 3 as a dancing playing card in Alice In Wonderland. Having trained as a dancer across multiple disciplines, after graduation from Middlesex University with a BA (hons) in Dance Studies, she went on to combine her love of performing and her love of the arts, travelling internationally as a Show business TV presenter and producer for Reuters.

A return to full-time performing followed as Katherine trained under several West-End vocal coaches and also began to develop an interest in teaching performing arts through her outreach work in inner city primary schools.

She has since gone on to qualify as a secondary school dance teacher as well as working in a wide variety of extra-curricular and out of school settings, including running a successful vocal coaching practice. Katherine has been instrumental in designing and implementing safeguarding policies for several companies that she has worked for.

Katherine is also an experienced choreographer, director and producer of children’s and amateur musical theatre  - credits include Seussical, Alice In Wonderland, Guys And Dolls, Bugsy Malone, and Oliver!, as well as countless variety shows and original works. She performs both in local amateur theatre and professionally as a jazz and cabaret singer and compere all over the UK.

She has been manager at Stagecoach Leicester since 2020 and is delighted to continue her journey as part of the Stagecoach family as Principal at Melton Mowbray – and strongly believes that the ethos and commitment to young people that underpins all things Stagecoach allows the students to flourish in a safe, creative and supportive environment.
