Drama, Dance and Singing Classes in Gloucester

Welcome to Stagecoach Gloucester

A welcoming word from our Principal Sharon Isaacs.
Our Gloucester School is fully of life and vitality where children join us on a weekly basis to discover the magical world of performing arts! Our school has a warm and friendly feel – we love to see lots of animated expressive faces in drama and plenty of lively moves in our dance classes and listen to voices loud and clear in singing. Our focus changes over three terms, from technique, building confidence and skills -  to performing a full show -  as well as sharing our work in progress with friends and family. We will be performing locally at Parabola Arts Centre and also support many charity gala’s as well as school fete’s and local community events. We offer a rich environment where children are wholeheartedly encouraged to find their confidence through drama, dance and singing – whilst having lots of fun and meeting many new friends along the way.

OUR SCHOOL
Gloucester Performing Arts School opened in 2002 based at Ribston Hall High School we enjoy a perfect location with all the benefits of a venue with performing arts status. We pride ourselves on delivering top quality classes for performing arts under one roof – making life simple and easy for parents and offering children the opportunity to explore singing, drama and dance! We not only train but provide opportunities to perform locally and nationally.

OUR TRAINING
Fully qualified teachers bring a wide range of experience and everyone has enhanced child protection DBS certificates in place.

In Drama we discover new skills including devising, exploring scripted work and stage craft – we use props and play games to encourage self-confidence. Our students are given the opportunity to take examinations in Drama each term.

Dance training has a broad base encompassing, Contemporary, Jazz and Musical Theatre we also enjoy Street Dance – we encourage everyone to bring their own ideas and choreography along to classes.

Singing is where we find our voices and explore a wide genre of music, from Popular and the Classics to Musical Theatre.  Our vocal warm up exercises are great fun and encourage good practice and correct technique enabling us to sing confidently and protect our voices.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
We are very excited to be taking a group of our students to Disneyland® Paris in July this year where they will perform in the pre parade and on stage.

We are currently looking forward to performing as the choir for Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, having appeared as the choir for this show on no less than nine occasions - each occasion brings it’s own excitement. In addition to Joseph, we have acted and danced alongside professional companies both in musicals and in plays, from Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House and JB Priestley’s,  An Inspector Calls, to The King and I and many more besides. We regularly visit London’s West End to see our favourite shows most recently we saw Made in Dagenham and Matilda. We have also performed on stage at the O2 Arena and The Royal Albert Hall in London.
