End of Year Showcase goes down a Storm!!
What a fantastic year it has been and a fantastic show to finish it all off. All of the students have worked incredibly hard throughout the summer term and on July 11th all of their friends and family came to watch as they took to the stage. The show 'Dick Whittington', along with a few friends that he meets along the way gave the students the opportunity to really get into character. With a little added costume and makeup they really did stand out under the lights with some great talents shining through!
We now look forward to our Summer Workshop on the 18th, 19th and 20th August where I am sure we will see some new faces too! Our next term begins on Saturday 19th September - give us a call now to come and join us for another fun filled term in the Autumn.
Performance Troupe Head to the Pilton Greenman Festival
We were very lucky to be asked to join in the Pilton Greenman Festival this year with acts from around the area performing in the Church throughout the day. There were some fab acts with ours finishing off the day with a bang! The children sang a variety of songs led by our singing coach Jackie Gibbins and then finished off with a musical theatre routine with both dance and song combined. A tricky space and a very hard floor but the children acted as young professionals and did us proud. Its not just about performing at Stagecoach, its about learning to be an adaptable and versatile performer and make the most of any space presented to you. I can certainly say that the children all did this with great confidence. Another fab day that we all thoroughly enjoyed!
Inspire Dance 2015 - Plough Arts Centre
Our performance Troupe at Stagecoach barnstaple were invited to perform at this years Inspire Dance. Our dance coach Anthony put together a brilliant routine full of song and dance that really showcased all of the children talents. There were a variety of performances throughout the evening with our being the only all rounder involving the three disciplines of dance, drama and song. A great evening enjoyed by all - let's hope we get invited back again next year!
Amazing Results for LAMDA Solo Acting Exams
11 of our students at Stagecoach Theatre Arts School Barnstaple aged from 7-16 years, opted to take their LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) Solo Acting Exams in the Spring of this year. After weeks of hard work and one to one tuition with LAMDA Tutor Mark Wakeman they all headed down to Plymouth to the examination. After a nail biting few weeks we got the results ... 100% PASSED!! All 11 students achieved a Merit or above with nearly half passing at Distinction level!
Principal Kate Ridley-Holloway and LAMDA tutor Mark Wakeman are both incredibly pleased with the results and added, "We could not be prouder of what the students have achieved. They all showed such commitment to the course with each
