Welcome to Stagecoach Performing Arts Banbury where we nurture and develop young potential through singing, acting and dance classes whilst stretching imaginations and building confidence.

Offering classes for 4-18 year olds in singing, acting and dance Stagecoach Banbury loves to share our passion for the performing arts. The skills learnt at Stagecoach Banbury are not only skills in performing arts, but are skills for life, whether it be having the confidence to speak in front of a crowd or working as a team. Our aim is to nuture each child’s potential and reach their own personal goals.

At Stagecoach Banbury, as well as our regular weekly classes, we offer exams in Trinity Guildhall Musical Theatre, RSL & LAMDA and RSL We have external practitioners that visit and offer workshops and have had workshops in television presenting and camera work, audition techniques, stage combat and West End Musical Theatre workshops. We have an annual show and we have a Performance Troupe that all students can audition for. The Performance Troupe perform at local events and regional events as well as having the opportunity to perform on a West End stage & Disney Paris.

Enrolling information

Our age groups 7-10 are FULL in all our BGN classes. We have spaces for this age group in our Brackley Saturday school. LIMITED AVAILABILITY - The class has a small number of places available for particular age groups. WAITING LIST - This class is full but taking waiting list spaces. FULLY BOOKED - This class and it's waiting list are full.

SUMMER WORKSHOP

Come and join us for a full week of singing, dancing & acting. Non Stagecoach students welcome.The aim of the week is to build confidence, work as a team, learn the songs & dances from the chosen musical & most of all have fun. At the end of the week we invite parents to come. Book now to avoid disappointment- our workshops are always very popular.

TWO WEEK TRIAL

Why don't you book a 2 week trial with us? It's only £25 for Early Stages - 4-6 yrs, 90mins, and £50 for Main Stages - 7-18 yrs (Sibling discount of 50% for Main Stages - 7-18 yrs). After your 2 week trial, should you wish to enrol for the full term, the fees paid will be deducted from the full term's fees.

Performance Troupe

At Stagecoach Banbury we are really proud to have a 'Performance Troupe' Students are invited to audition for this every year, it has proven very popular. The troupe attend local, regional & London events including Her Majesty's Adelphi & Shaftesbury Theatres. We have also performed at Disneyland Paris and will be again soon!

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Stagecoach Early Stages
Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Stagecoach Main Stages
Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Stagecoach Further Stages
Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Meet The Team

Principal - Melissa Lewis - BA Hons Dance, AISTD, AIDTA

Melissa is a veteran of Stagecoach beginning her jouney as a tutor in 2000. With many years' experience and training, dance is her speciality. She obtained her degree in dance and dance teaching qualifications from The London College of Dance, going on to work as a professional dancer for over 5 years. Melissa has always taught a variety of ages and backgrounds working in and around Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire areas. Some of her proficiently trained students have gone on to some of the industry's most prestigious and recognised colleges including The Arts Educational School, Bird College, The Urdang Academy, Chichester University, Laine Theatre Arts, The Margaret Howard Theatre College, PPA Academy, East 15 to name a few. Some have gone on to perform in the West End, on cruise ships and become dance teachers or actors themselves. Melissa loves to share her passion of the performing arts and excels in building confidence and self esteem in young people.
