Stagecoach Shirley

A warm welcome to Stagecoach Shirley! We provide quality part-time training in singing, dance and drama for children aged 4-18yrs in the Shirley and surrounding greater Croydon area, since 1997.

Our aim is to nurture and develop young potential through performance, stretching young imaginations and helping to develop confidence, physical awareness, communication and articulation - as well as being educational and fun!
Students perform for friends and family twice a year at the school and often work on specific projects. We regularly participate in the Stagecoach Showcase at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End, home of Phantom of the Opera, and in the past we have had children perform in operas at the Royal Opera House, as well as getting cast in West End musicals such as The Lion King and Thriller Live.

We are now taking bookings for our next term including our new Friday night school! Places are filling fast. Call 020 8949 1116 for further information or enrol online today!

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Fees in accordance with Main Stages.

Meet The Team

Principal - Kim Findlay

Kim holds a diploma in Performing Arts and is a former actor and dancer. She moved to London from New Zealand 10 years ago, where she also taught dance and choreographed.

She has been performing in amateur productions since she was 10 and feels that this experience as a child has contributed enormously to her adult life. Kim wishes Stagecoach had been around when she was younger!

Kim is a member of a variety of South West London local amateur performing arts companies, primarily choreographing for musicals, but also performing when possible. A recent production she choreographed of The Drowsy Chaperone received high praise from the show's writer Lisa Lambert, and was part of the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
