Stagecoach Loughborough

At Stagecoach Loughborough, we pride ourselves on the quality of teaching that we provide across all three Performing Arts but with the emphasis on having fun! Students who come to us lacking in confidence leave with the skills that they need to lead full and valuable lives. Parents have written to thank us for developing skills in their children which have meant that their academic standard has improved, and that they have found the courage to do something which they would never have done before.  Students who leave us, often after many years, thank us for guiding and helping them in a non-threatening environment, where they feel loved, valued and welcomed every week, giving them a new ‘family’ of friends outside their usual school friends. Some of our students go on to study performing arts at university but most just take with them a love of singing, dance and drama into whatever career path they choose.

We offer Performing Arts Exams

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Principal - Judith Latham - Cert. Ed.

Judith originally trained as a Primary school teacher, specialising in Speech and Drama. She taught for 24 years and held Deputy Head and Headteacher positions; she ended her teaching career in 2007 after 6 very successful years as Headteacher at Seagrave Village Primary School in Leicestershire. Judith began performing aged five, taking part in Speech and Drama competitions and Associated Board examinations, reaching Grade 8. She appeared in many plays in her hometown of Spalding in Lincolnshire. She has performed numerous theatre roles, including Viola in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night and Karen in Lillian Helman’s The Children’s Hour. During her teaching career, she wrote and directed several children’s plays. More recently, she sang for 14 years with The Ratcliffe Chorale and also with Singing for Fun, which raised several thousands of pounds for local charities and also enjoyed a very successful tour of Tuscany. But she has now returned to Ratcliffe Chorale! She is Chairperson of the QT Theatre Group in Syston, where she has enjoyed performing for six years, particularly the role of Margaret in “Last Tango in Little Grimley”, but she now concentrates on directing, which she really enjoys.
