A very big welcome to Stagecoach Beverley! Anyone that comes to visit us here agrees that there is a wonderful atmosphere and the schools are buzzing with energy and excitement. Stagecoach provides children with the opportunity to participate in all three performing arts disciplines – drama classes, dance classes and singing classes – helping to develop confidence, physical awareness, communication and articulation – as well as being educational and lots of fun.

Early Stages classes give children the opportunity to make new friends and have fun exploring each of the three musical theatre disciplines of singing, dancing and drama, as well as learning key life skills along the way.

Main Stages

(6 – 18 year-olds)

Main Stages classes are split in three age-appropriate groups, where children develop skills in the three musical theatre disciplines of singing, dancing and drama. These confidence-boosting classes see children build key life skills we call Creative Courage for Life®.

Further Stages

(15+ year-olds)

Our Further Stages give older students the chance to extend their performance skills. Through in-depth training, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting. We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Meet our Principal

I’m Claire Hookham, Principal of Stagecoach Beverley. With 35+ years in Musical Theatre and 20+ in education, I love inspiring young performers. At Stagecoach, children aged 4-18 develop confidence, creativity, and life skills through singing, dancing, and acting in a fun, supportive environment. With workshops, trips, and performance opportunities, we nurture talent and give every student a chance to shine.

The Teachers

  • Donna Blackman ALAM

    Drama and Cover Manager

    Performing Arts Teacher | Director | Poet | Voice & Communication Specialist. Donna has over 35 years’ teaching experience and a lifelong passion for the performing arts. Her career began at 7 and includes work with the BBC, musical theatre, LAMDA teaching and founding Holderness Performing Arts. An award-winning actress and director, published poet and qualified ALAM graduate, Donna inspires students of all ages to find their voice through performance and championing inclusive arts education.

  • Freya Shepherd

    Singing

    Freya is a graduate of Performers College Birmingham, with a BA (Hons) in Acting for Stage, Screen and Digital Media. Her credits include Disneyland Paris, the UK tour of Joseph and The Welkin at Birmingham’s Old Rep Theatre. A former Stagecoach Beverley student, Freya credits Stagecoach with shaping her confidence and passion for performance. She now brings her professional training and teaching experience to inspire young performers to develop their skills, creativity and confidence.

  • Isabelle Peat

    Dance

    Izzy graduated from Bird College with a degree in Dance and Musical Theatre and is currently completing her ISTD teaching qualification. Passionate about performing and teaching, she creates a fun, supportive and inclusive environment where every student can develop their skills and confidence. Izzy is excited to share her enthusiasm, knowledge and love of performance with the next generation of young performers!

  • Anna McGowan

    Further Stages and Troupe

    Anna is a professionally trained musical theatre performer and dedicated teacher with a BA(Hons) in Musical Theatre from Leeds Conservatoire and a Diploma from the London College of Music. After gaining valuable industry experience living and working in London, she brings her expertise into the classroom. Anna is passionate about inspiring young performers through energetic, engaging classes that build confidence, creativity and performance skills in a warm, inclusive and supportive environment.

  • Charlotte Britt

    Early Stages

    Charlotte is a passionate performing arts practitioner and teacher, having been a Stagecoach Beverley student for 12 years. Her performance experience includes Disneyland Paris, the Shaftesbury Theatre and The O2 Arena. She is currently studying Law, Criminology and Maths at college and holds Grade 8 (A*) GCSE Drama, LAMDA Bronze and Silver Medals, plus Grade 5 LAMDA qualifications in Drama and Devising. Charlotte brings enthusiasm, experience and professionalism to her teaching.

  • Grace Murden

    Early Stages Assistant

    Grace joined Stagecoach at the age of eight and has remained passionate about performing arts ever since. Her performance experience includes Hull New Theatre and The O2 Arena, giving her valuable insight into supporting young performers. Grace particularly enjoys working with younger children, helping them build confidence, overcome nerves and develop their creativity. She is committed to encouraging every student to grow, achieve their goals and enjoy performing.
