Lottie’s story: Stagecoach ad star in her own words

Lottie, aged 14 years, has been dancing with Stagecoach Oxted since she was around five, and now, several years on, she’s one of the stars in our brand new cinema advert.

Her passion, confidence and skill led her to this moment in her life, and it sure is an exciting one.

Here is her story.

Lottie joined Stagecoach after her mum realised just how much she loved dancing. “I started dancing when I was about four,” she explains. “One day my mum just decided 'let's take her to dance class!' so off I went. I must have loved it, because I still love it now.”

It wasn’t long until Lottie’s mum discovered Stagecoach, where her little girl was encouraged to improve her skills and her confidence. Lottie admits that without Stagecoach, she wouldn’t be the person she is today.

"I guess Stagecoach has always been there. It's kind of made me, me, almost. I'm now who I am because of Stagecoach,” she says.

“It's kind of changed me from being a shy little girl. It's been a real confidence booster. It's so encouraging, such a lovely environment to be in, and I really, really enjoy it."

Of course, that doesn’t mean that Lottie doesn’t still get nervous when it comes to performing in front of others. However, once she starts dancing, she’s unstoppable.

“I'm scared that I might go wrong, but when I'm actually performing, I feel almost at home really. I just want to keep on going, I don't want to get off the stage, and I don't want any show to finish.”

Lottie is just one of the hundreds of students we’re incredibly lucky to have at Stagecoach, and we know she’ll go on to do great things. If you’d like to see our full Stagecoach ad and find out more about how it was made, click here.
