Meet The Team

Principal - Caroline Rochfort

Caroline is proud to come from Honiton. She left home to train in London at The Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts (as featured in the current BBC show School for Stars), where she covered all aspects of music, dance and drama. After graduating with honours Caroline secured her first professional role in the national tour of 'Tutti-Frutti', followed by her West End debut in the original West End production of Grease at the Dominion Theatre where she played the role of Jan opposite Shane Ritchie and a then unknown Tamzin Outhwaite. It also gave Caroline the opportunity of working with the world famous choreographer Arlene Phillips. After this dream start to her professional career Caroline went on to work extensively in Musical Theatre. Other West End credits include La Cava (Piccadilly Theatre), Fame (Cambridge Theatre), Saturday Night Fever (London Palladium) and Sweeney Todd (Royal Festival Hall). Caroline also played Fantine in Les Miserables fulfilling her childhood dream.
Other credits include 'Go Play Up Your Own End' (Birmingham Rep), 'Heaven Can Wait' and Wake Up Little Suzie (Coliseum Theatre, Oldham),'Snow White'(Bristol Hippodrome), Heartbeat (National Tour), Dick Whittington(Theatre Clwyd), Make Some Noise (Theatre Royal Stratford East) and 'Great Balls of Fire' (National Tour). She loved returning to the West Country to perform in three pantomimes at The Northcott Theatre, Exeter. (Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood, Mother Goose and Sleeping Beauty). Some of our older students may well have cheered and booed at Caroline without even realising it !! Caroline has worked throughout England and Europe as a concert and session singer. Highlights include Judy Garland in A Swinging Swell Party, 'The Ultimate Elvis Tour' , Wonderful West End, 'The Ronnie Corbett Charity Gala' at the Fairfield Halls, supporting Barbara Dickinson and Cleo Lane in Music on the Green at Wells Cathedral and several Royal Variety Performances. She has appeared in numerous television commercials and her vocal talents can be heard on various soudtracks and cast recordings.
She has recently been involved in two exciting new projects playing the leading role of Anya in Dreamweaver at the Donmar Warehouse. Previous to this she was involved in a collaborative workshop of the Schoenberg/Boublil musical Marguerite with director Jonothan Kent. She is currently the lead singer in the internationally renowned Ross Mitchell Band, playing venues all over the world including The Royal Albert Hall, a venue close to her heart and one she will be returning to later in the year. She has just flown in with the band from a concert in the bright lights of Los Angeles.
Caroline lives near Axminster with her husband James (see below!) and her two daughters and newly acquired puppy Strawberry.
With a wealth of experience she hopes to be an inspiration to all the students and is delighted to be the new principal.
